Hi there,
I'm looking to start focusing on my Hall Of Monuments, it'll be a few months until my characters birthday's so I'm looking to buy mini-pets.
Trouble is, how do I find out whether the pet is dedicated or not? Or would it be a risk I'd have to take?
Thanks,
- Amy
How can I check this?

Cool Name
It says in the description. If you're unsure what to look for, take a look at one of your minipets. If you haven't dedicated it, take a look at the description. Then go dedicate it and look it again. Someone might be kind enough to take a photo for you. Also I think it maybe warns you when someone tries to trade you something that has been customized? (dedication counts as customization) Might be wrong about that.
Also, since it is so simple to check if it is dedicated then I think most people are honest about if it is dedicated or not. But always check before accepting.

It's a line in the item description in white text, just like a customized weapon. Also, when you attempt to trade for one, the game will warn you that you're trading for a dedicated pet.
Tender Care
Since i've never seen a dedicated minipet (i'm really out of minipet world of GW, and i don't care a f**k of minis), i think it's a like a weapon:
There should be written: customized for " John Smith " (random name) at bottom

Doesn't something pop up when you trade a min that dedicated before you accept the trade?

See http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Devotion#Notes - there's a screenshot of dedicated vs. non-dedicated minis there.

That was how it originally was--unfortunately, unlike dedicated minipets, you couldn't display them at all (unlike a dedicated mini, which you can't display in your HoM).

Exactly, Thom. From the same wiki page:

Ah great!
Thanks a bunch guys! I'm very new to trading and well GW in total, been playing a few months and my boyfriend warned me about it as he traded money and got a dedicated pet in return haha.
Happy gaming!
