Dervish update effects on GW

Those arenas need bug fixes before you worry about balance. Many games are won and lost based on whether or not one side was hit by a bug or not. Usually it's the luxons losing out due to a turtle stall bug (which seems to be happening more frequently these days).
The dervish is pretty powerful there until you come up against a mesmer or necro. They still mess you over pretty easily with enchantment stripping.

Thanks deity something can stop them atleast with all these "hurr removes melee counter conditions even from a stack of cover conditions" i mean the whole point of apply poison for rangers is to cover cripple etc. what use is crippling shot or melandrus shot if the dervish simply hits an instant enchantment and looses it as well as gaining a powerfull primary effect.
Enchant stripping is even good in some cases since the dervish enchantments are made to be removed and have a fast recharge as well as a low cost. Also the cast is instant so good luck rupting the dervish (and they attack faster too). Sigh i suppose that diversion and weakness as well as water magic still works. Shame for the ranger though...

the update is nice . Tried using a dervish hero . THey still fail hard like all the other melee heroes. Anet really need to fix them .

I'm starting to get annoyed by all derv trains happening. They just focus on a target, stripping enchants and keeping him perma crippled till your healer runs out of energy.
Hopefully they will see a slight nerf soon (for PvP)

It doesn't seem like any individual, particular new Dervish skill is imba outright, but certain combinations are very effective in a way that the Dervish has needed since it was first nerfed into the ground and shunned from competitive play.

Well that's the problem, overall the balance is good and most of the skills work great. Unfortunately certain skills combined together are just insane.
Basically with Avatar of Grenth, Grenths Aura and Harriers haste you have 40 hp lifesteal per hit. So they just cripple one target and keep attacking it non-stop, most of their attacks can't be blocked because they can remove stances/and or enchantments really easily.
So you end up with 2 or 3 dervishes on a team running around near invincible (unless you have major enchantment removable) with huge dps and good utility(they can lineback well).
I am glad that they got buffed and I am having fun on my dervish but I feel that it's kind of ridiculous right now, I don't want a sudden extreme nerf but I feel like certain skills need to be modified a little.
Basically the difference between the Dervish and an Assassin/Warrior is that you need positioning and intelligence to play the the latter, Dervish you can overextend and split incredibly well without any penalty.
At this point, I am wondering why anyone is using warriors still...

Awesome update, introduces more tactical play. I would imagine it's more in the lines of what GW2 will be like.
Seems like tactics is becoming a more pronounced strategy

1 sec activation traps, would make bringing a tactical barbed trap along no issue...lol-- Just a couple silly immediate thoughts.
All in all, this update is awesome for the game. Makes derv think to do damage now. Enchant juggling with the right combos makes the Grenths fad look silly in pvp. I'd imagine it's just as good if not better in pve.

...then it is sarcasm since boosting AoE reduces the need for tactical play down to the point where "tactics" = "not accidentally aggroing nearby spawns while blasting" and little more.

they finally are worth bringing into a party outside of PvP lamespike builds, nobody can deny that.

I made Vizunah Square yesterday in HM with my dervish without having to be healed at all.
I wouldn't think about that with my dervish before, eating all those afflicted soul explosions.
