As the Endgame Approaches

What do you expect to happen to the Guild Wars economy say... a month before the release of the new game?

• Will those who have hoarded over the past few years just start giving things away? (I doubt it... but it might happen)
  
• Will the final few HoM items start selling for extortionate prices (diamonds, rubies and saphires for Vabbian; ectos for Obsidian; ambraces; minipets and maybe even hero armours)?
  
• Similarly, what will you do with your acquired wealth; if you are planning on retiring your character and moving to GW2?

I don't find myself in the "rich" category very often, but I'm reaching the end of the list of things I have to spend money on (sweets, booze, party points and obsidian armour - hopefully should get them all done in the next 4 months). I know that if it gets to within a week of GW2 and there are some lonely folk in LA looking for those last few thousand for sweets to max their titles, I'll probably just hand over the dough.

Just gonna keep most, give away some to ppl who still will continue playing gw1, Dont think it'll Go into sky, rather stay quite stable for sometime

As long as no one will pull the power out of the GW1 servers I still play GW1
Sure I will move to GW2 with my Ally, but I think there will be lots of peeps still playing GW1 ... so, I just keep everything and try to get a cheap Panda or so

Highly doubt that the prices will go up even more. Most people that plan on playing GW2 and want a nice HoM will have filled it up already or are working on it atm. You might see some people paying ridicuous prices for that last mini they want or w/e when GW2 comes out. People that don't plan on coming back in gw1 and spend all their wealth on that one last item.

I'm probably gonna give some stuff away to friends so they can reach their 30/50 HoM.
And for the economy (After the launch of gw2) i predict a slow (very slow) decline in prices for materials and cons, etc,(basic demand and supply i guess) less active people lower demand/supply.
But what i do think is going to happen is a general rise in prices the day that they announce the launch-date of gw2. people are gonna want to fill their hom or get GWAMM at any price

side note: i don't know details of this but if they would introduce 7hero party forming, i also think that the prices of relevant green weapons are gonna rise together with the rise in prices for Runes and insigia's ^^

I will group with 7 random people, enter FoW, and run around in FoW dropping my rarest minis/weapsons/ecto.
