The Owl Goes [wOOt]

W/Mo

Hello everyone,
I've completed Prophecies (Yay) mainly just by doing solely missions, however I'd like to take my time with the game and explore nearly all of the map (I'd love to get a cartographer title). Anyhoo, I've searched the internet and forums but find it difficult to find a screen shot of some sort of someone who explored most of Prophecies (including towns) as I'd like to explore more but don't know where to start!

If someone could direct me to a good link of a map (hopefully not edited like crazy) or even upload their own I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks
-Amy

If you're looking for a reference to finish the cartographer title you could check out some of the texture mods that let you see clearly what spots you've missed. Congrats on finishing proph.

Thanks for replies
@awry, thanks for the suggestion but I'd prefer not to use mods in this game
@ King Size, Thanks for the image! Can't find it in high res though

actually using texmod is

1. ALLOWED by ANet
2. very good at showing you what you have missed
3. and theres customized UI skins that can give you a more personal feel

i tried to stay away from texmod, but being stuck at 99% carto for tyria and not knowing what i missed was bugging me

Entirely your decision, I don't have an opinion on whether it's right or wrong, I usually only mod games like The Sims etc .. but I guess that'd bug me if I was stuck on 99% all the time hehe

The Guru forum "Explorer's League" actually has cartographer guides for all four areas of Tyria located there. Not sure if you can post/request screen shots there, though.

Never personally used texmod but have completed all three cartographer titles on my main char by layering my own screenshot over someone's 100% map in GIMP then saving it as an animated GIF. After that I just load it up in my browser window and looked for the differences.

Wiki has a list of maps with a couple of high res maps, like here and here (these last two links are big images, beware).

Just my two cents worth:

I never use texmod for GW for over a year but now have put in texmod for two things, cartographer's and mission maps. I find that helped me a lot. It does not slow or lag you, even on laptops. Turning from GW to browser page for maps and back again is really time consuming.

If you really do not want to use it, then follow Dzjudz's instructions. Those were the maps I used too. And also, always, always hug the edges.
