So I've not done DoA yet. I'd like to, but the first mob sometimes the second if I'm lucky, always eats my lunch.
I am a E, I have your basic pvx hero teams, discord, sab, spirit.
So here are a few questions...
Can I do this with just myself and heroes? I belong to a guild so if no that's cool I'll just have to plan.
If I can do this with heroes, what builds would you recommend.
If everyone in my guild is busy or using GW as an exciting chat GUI what build do Pugs want from a E?
Lastly how many runs do I have to make to get a tormented wep?
Thanks in advance!

Also any walkthroughs or tutorial threads would be great

The DoA's the kind of place you either need a full party (ie, at least two humans and a full complement of Heroes; hopefully the DoA and other Elite areas'll keep the 3 Hero restriction once we get to have 7 Hero parties ) or else be really skilled. So there's probably not much advice people could give other than to either find a partner with decent Heroes (making sure your own are also good!) or else get a LOT better at the game.
(personally, I can't get more than 2 spawns into any of the DoA areas with my Warrior, my best-equipped character & Heroes, and his Sabway & Spirtway teams :P)

Give it a week or so and see what the new meta is in spike roles. With the change to intensity, there's a possibility that E/X may be the new spiker class. In which case you'll find groups quite easily.
To learn DoA, however, it's honestly best to join a guild that does DoA somewhat consistently. I firmly believe you don't learn anything from pugs.

I disagree with you there.
It depends on the learner's style of learning. Practicality and roughing it out in PUGs rolls you onto the basics of learning something.
HOWEVER, learning specifics and important objectives (the small things) are solely dependant upon the user's own curiosity and ability to find out from well-experienced others.
But enough about that.
As Glaiveway remains the current meta for DoA SC (changes may be potentially adapted, and this is not including Trenchway...), just go to DoA and say "DwG LFP" or something. Hopefully you end up next to an experienced DwG and you can follow his/her lead.
Oh, and what's DwG?
Check it out on PvX (I don't think I'm allowed to post the link to that on this forum, so google it!)
If you get a good group (NM groups I have had a 7/10 success rate with getting them good), you'll easily beat the whole thing in 1.5-2 hours.
Oh, and if you REALLY want to run with just heroes/henchies... I'd say... Try getting along with peeps around you and stop being such a loser. Even if the peeps you are playing with are losers...

I beg to differ there. Personally, my first DoA run was with a pug, and during that run, i basically learned the whole deal with DoA, i learned the build, i learned what i was supÄosed to do, i learned where to stand, where not to stand etc etc, and by watching the other players, i learned the roles of the other professions and what they're suposed to do, especially how a DwG operates (i started first as SoS) which helped me a lot when i started DwG'ing myself.

That's cool. I'll still stand by my statement. Mostly because pugs become so "What's your rank, n00b. /kick" at the drop of a hat. In my experience, there's a much better learning curve in a guild than with people who rage because you're new to an area.

Thanks for the replies, I love playing with others I just had little experience getting into a group.
