Shiro & Vizu costumes

I rebooted the old Vizu project after my roomie submitted to joining me as Shiro. My face when he said yes -->

It's not for a particular contest or anything, just for fun and the nostalgic epicness that would be a Shiro/Vizu photoshoot. I thought I'd share the progress here in case anyone wants to do something similar. If you want to do an Assassin costume you might find the Vizu progress helpful in particular.

For some strange reason I cannot open any threads in Nolani that Have a last posting more than one day ago

I think I remember that you showed how you were making those daggers in a previous thread, I would like the link.

Thanks for the enthusiastic response so far. I'll be able to post more progress soon. Still waiting for some ebay chinese brocade to arrive by snailmail for Shiro, so it will be Vizu progress primarily.

@ Aero: I did? o.O ... I can't remember taking any pictures of the process, though I will next time I make a batch of daggers. Perhaps you mean my post in the old cantha workshop thread? linky

Cus I'm on a budget, I'm making as much as I can from scraps, and simplifying my methods. For the daggers I would usually create a mould and cast them in resin or plastic, but I can't spare the money to ship such items from abroad at present, so I'm simply gonna use card, some wooden bits and aliminium tape. I'll show you how when I pick up the aliminium tape, though I'm sure you geniuses figured it out already. For the dagger prototype above I just used duct-tape (and a pencil, lol), to show you a dulled down version of how the base will look. no pictures, but a crappy little paint doodle... XD

Oh my the wigs are amazing. Are they very expensive?

They were $21 and $23 I believe, and they are very high quality - I've ordered from the same seller before. They're heat resistant so you can style them with curling irons and the like. CosplayDNA on Ebay.

That sounds like a very good deal on the wigs! Maybe I should get into cosplay? Though I don't quite have the body for it... >_>;

Oooh, wig-styling can be fun. I managed to turn an old-lady wig into Paine from FFX-2 a few years ago XD was interesting. And yay for ebay.

Weren't you working on a Vizu costume for one of the past contests? I vaguely remember you wanting to do it, but had to drop it because you didn't have enough time.

But this is looking awesome, and I'd really like to see BOTH a Shiro and Vizu costume together.

I'm so happy you were able to convince your roomie, because I really like the Shiro storyline (he's such a tragic character... <ducks as people give odd looks>) and how Vizu totally kicked butt!
