The other day in LA I got told something rather funny.

"That's way overpriced! You don't know what value things are. I'm a power trader, I know what that's worth"

This .. firstly.. Made me lol really hard. I'm not a powertrader really, but I do know what some stuff is worth. (been around for a few months)

SO!!! ONto the subject. Trader's Outpost.
Does anyone else remember the days when LA was the place to go? I do. I remember finding out what a crystalline was back in 05.
This is just an idea, that might be sort of fun. Anyone who runs two or three accounts could help with this a lot.

I Really want to bring back LA trading. I think, but am not certain, that if we all (GWG) started spamming WTS/WTB in LA instead of Kama that due to our numbers and what we are selling or buying.. We might be able to change the location of trading dominance back to Lions Arch.

I'm not sure if anyone else thinks this would be a cool test, a great idea, fun nostalgia, a waste of time, really stupid, not realistic.

But anyways... I just figured that since GWG is such a large community and has such a big affect on trading in the game, that it might be interesting to try it out and see if we can make it happen.

Any thoughts? I imagine flame, and "terrible idea" posts will ensue.. But I still think this would be hilarious if we all just vacated Kama for a few days and moved to LA (or anywhere) to see if people would follow.

I miss Droks and Ascalon Int more than LA, but I'd show up.

Even better, I'd love to see a bunch old timers fill up the Grotto...drunk (irl and ingame).

Anyways - I'd help you, with my single one account.

Not everyone has Ascalon inter1. And it used to be Droks, Ascalon, LA. All at the same time. Everyone has LA, most have Droks, some still have Ascalon.

Maybe we could do it over time ? :P We could get everyone in LA.. then all start selling runs to Ascalon. Then runs to Droks! Mmm I see business ventures in the future for all of us :P

Ofcourse I too shall join the oldschool epicboat.

Grotto was always interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing that come back.

But trading is a disaster in this game no matter where you try it.

this is great! i had actually thought about this idea for LA a couple months ago but figured no one would find it interesting as i did. definitely down for this.

i don't miss ascalon int at all. duper and mini pet galore

now LA days...those were fun grotto was interesting sometimes..usually people raging at each other though

Cool idea i guess, but i think the main reason the trading city is kamadan due u can get "storage char" orso there with ease without doing single thing, When for LA u would need to play abit.

Well that wouldnt be problem for me, Guess i could check LA sometimes with my one only account

I mean just all the time. Instead of sitting there in Kamadan... Start sitting in LA. I've been doing it all week. Occasionally popping in to Kamadan, but mostly staying in LA. Just start the transition :P Others will follow

Okay... started it now. Thing is: I put my "wtb req8 bows" into the party search. First whisp was like "req9 is best for max bows, but I have green bows with even lower req!".... hmmm, mkay

Interesting thread, I think it's good that people are seeking new ways to reinvigorate the trading community.

However, Kamadan is the major trade outpost for obvious reasons (quick access to storage with new character, port city, starting city, etc) and therefore the trading will naturally shift to that city.

BUT I also think that things may change when the Embark Beach update is implemented. Some have theorized that Embark Beach itself will become a major trade hub.

I wouldn't mind hanging out and trading in LA, it makes no difference to me really. I do some trading there already.
