Ye they are cool and I do actually have 2 pve rangers but they are just awful in GW, seriously bow attacking for like 50 dmg is pathetic.

I havent even used a bow on my ranger in a long time, used to only use daggers and scythes and now only run SoS spirit spam.

Started with my main character the day GW went live. He is an Elementalist and I have no regrets. While I know that my ele is no longer the massive damage dealer he once was (only by comparison), he is more than adequate to the tasks at hand. He will soon be GWAMM and has completed everything in the game at least once.

My only regret is that my first toon was a Mes and three weeks in I said "this sucks" and deleted him. He'd have been 5 yrs old by now. And pretty damn useful too.

yes, as ranger was my original main, but now its a para. Pretty much should just have started in nf with a para and worked on titles before I had already ran through zones hundreds of times e.g. vanq, but w/e, hindsight is a wonderful thing eh?

I posted this before but the biggest mistake I made was taking a /N secondary for my ranger and having a friend tell me, "Oh, you did that.... Now you have no choice but to be a touch ranger". I proceeded to spend nearly 6 months just banging 1-2-3 on the keyboard and then spent another year banging 1-2-3 when Ursan came out. I really didn't learn to play the game (I'm still learning) until they finally nerfed Ursan.

Absolutely not. I've played my Mesmer consistently over the past 5 years and have been happy since the start. Granted, for the first 4 years i played a SS curses build that didn't really have to do with being a Mesmer at all...but now i'm quite happy with my choicer and it's really fun to play!

My very first character was a Ranger on trial account.

When I bought Prophecies, I decided to make an Elementalist, BUT after few hours in pre-searing I felt too strong, because everyting was dying in two or three flares, so for extra challenge, I wiped that character and made a Warrior instead with the same name. ^^

I never really liked a Warrior gameplay (but I have a big sentiment to Michael, he is an essence of my newbie period - fireball and firestorm on skillbar ftw!), especially in PvE, so after finishing Tyria i took a break from GW. I even wanted to sell my account (thanks god no one bought it!)

In the meantime I created some new characters, my monk was one of them. His destination was to achieve survivor. I thought having an ability to heal myself would help me in the process, but I knew how wrong I was, when right after leaving pre-searing, I died in the turtorial arena >< (does it still extist?)

I was mad, so I left my monk for one year. A first year anniversary present reminds me of him and I slowly started to conquer Tyria, then Factions and Nightfall. Now, he has 33 maxed titles, 5 or 6 elite armor sets and over 2500h played.

I honestly don't regret any choices I've made. :>

I guess so? I definitely don't have that at all. The character of mine I have the most sentimental attachment to and spend the most money on is actually the fourth character I made. My first memories of GW were basically "...why am I playing this again?", so yeah.

So I don't regret creating my first character as I did, but if I had stuck with that character I would have because I would have quit GW.

The male ele/necro I mentioned is my oldest character, and I still like playing him (though the Prophecies ele armor is ugly IMO; I use the Shining Blade uniform over a Canthan ele outfit now). The seven other characters get a fair amount of play too, though. My second most-recent character, a Canthan rit/necro, is among my favored characters because I feel as if I've learned from the older characters and have managed to get him a better build of spells.

I've only ever played one char, my Monk of 5 and half years.

The other toons on my account are only for storage.

No regrets.

I regret not having foresight to see Hard mode coming in the future 2 years from release, I would have just kept my Ele as PVP only in '05.

Most of my PVP exp is from midlining/flagging (E-Prodigy, E-Prism, Mind Blast, etc.) so Ele was the the way to go, up until Rits came along and the meta shifted to weapon spell rits.

No regrets for necro, monk.

No regrets for warrior, mesmer. I just don't play them much.

Yes?
I launched the game, read up the profession descriptions. Mesmer sounded just like I wanted. But I didn't want to look like a loser, so I made an Elementalist.
Finished Prophecies 2 years later, using Domination magic most of the way.

About the time I reached Dragon's Lair, I learned about primary attribute. Oh well. I still did pretty well as a Mesmer, even without Fast Casting *nana nana naaaana!*

Then it turns out Eles have ugly armor (prophecies) and Mesmers had the nicest... Karma

I made a Mesmer when this game was new. I played every other professions at some point just to see how they play. But I never regretted the fact that my main has always been and will always be Mesmer.

my biggest regret was making three chars and kind of equally splitting them as per title. when the title came out my warrior had the most skills ele had most of the mission and ranger has the best cartographer so kind of have 3 title holders and never decided which one i liked best. maybe if i had made a necro first and kept that one and worked on it.

I started during the nightfall era and I do have regrets...

I love having 1 of all pve chars except Mez. 4 of those have all campaigns done. the other 4 are level 20, geared and runed up but with plenty of unfinished stuff.

I chose ele as my main for the first couple years but now i have to heal if i want to be as helpful as possible in Hm.

I like that the pve meta changes but hate that I've "had to" waste a bunch of time grinding sunspear, Lb, asuran, norn, vanguard, deldrimor "on any character I'm serious about performing well with in pve". Had these "party desirability and play altering" titles been account wide from the start, it would be no big deal.

As it stands:
You are punished for not playing one and only one character
(if u are underpowered in the current pve meta for your playstyle)
(ele, ranger, paragon, maybe monk)(for years, dervish)

and: You are punished for changing mains
(because of single character grind titles making a char more powerful/desirable)

bit of a catch 22 but I still have fun.... just sayin.

Not sure.

I started out with Ranger way back in the beginning of Prophecies, mainly because I love animals. Deleted her and remade her several times because I couldn't decide on the color of her hair. Switched to Ele for some reason once Factions came out. I wanna go back to my Ranger so badly right now, but I don't have enough time to relearn how to play a the class...

Warrior here.

No regrets. Once and often a solo build is nerfed, but apart from it, still fun to play. My least enjoyable char is my derv.

Started with a Rit and well, turned out to be a great choice after the update.
Except my GWAMM is on my para which still isn't a bad choice. LOL

Just curious, why delete a character if you still had other character slots to make new ones in? Did you just hate monks so much you didn't want to see your monk appear in the startup screen?

I made a warrior as my first character in Dec 05. Got to the desert and decided I didn't like how I looked, and wanted to change my secondary profession (JUST before ascension! - Noobs heh) Soo, created another warrior and played through all three campaigns and EotN with him and quit for about 2 years or so.

Decided to come back and get Legendary Survivor with a new "main", so I made my monk and the rest is history

No regrets, I think I was too new to the game back then to play any class to the maximum potential. I'm glad I could create a second main and do everything "properly" having learned my lessons with my warrior.

First character and my main is an Elly.

Yes, I regret that now just like most elly playrs do. The only way to play the Elly well is by abusing secondary professions with your energy pool, particularly E/Rt or E/Mo.

Monks, Mesmers and Necros do more damage than Ellys do now, yet ellys do monking + rit with Ether Renewal or Ether Prism much better with their energy.

Though I do like playing a support elly very much, I dont like that its the role that the elly plays best, while nuking is now better left to mesmer and necro heroes.
