From the Mists - Issue 6 | GuildMag
Dutch Sunshine
A new year, a new logo, a redesigned website and GuildMag's still there! Ok, enough of the cheesy rhyme, this issue will focus on the shrouded secrets of Tyria, namely everything that either didn't make it into the game or is still somewhat unknown or forgotten knowledge to the Guild Wars audience.
In short, this issue talks about the Mists themselves but also takes a look at what the unreleased Guild Wars expansion: Utopia, could have been for Guild Wars. Konig also takes a look at a possible story-plot for the next trilogy if it was not canceled in favor of Guild Wars 2. Next to this we also take at other interesting topics like the Celestials, Humans of Cantha and the Goddess Lyssa. Of course you'll also find our returning articles like an interesting interview with Ravious from Kill Ten Rats, Title Hunters, Call of the Wolf, and the adventures of Soy Oil. Also, we introduce a brand new the GuildMag Showdown, where we match up two iconic Guild Wars characters to fight for their honor!

Note: Clicking on Download will show you a white loading page, please be patient as it loads, as it might take a while.
We're always looking into other formats for our magazine to make it more accessible, one of these formats is to offer you the pages separately and give you a HTML file which puts them at their correct place. The negative side to this is that we currently cannot offer this with selectable text and navigation options. Though, for anyone interested, check out the following link which includes a .rar file with the aforementioned files inside.

So speculation and lore based on things that aren't going to happen anymore?
Looking forward to the Ravious interview though. Always an interesting read, that guy. Thanks for the link.

Our magazine is not our speculation outlet, we got Visions for that, the magazine may contain opinions from the writers but they're always clearly stated as such. We've had a wide range of topics so far and we thought that, with WiK done and WiC upcoming somewhere in the future, a look back at what could've been would be nice. Aside of two less fact-like articles we got a lot more lore for you to read as you can also see above.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the content that you did read - of course I'll take back the feedback that you gave us, as that's always appreciated!

Message I get after downloading the PDF. Anyone else having this issue?

Perhaps you closed the download to early?
I checked it and the pdf is still working normally for me, as is the HTML file included in the zip... perhaps you can give me a better specification of the problem, but I think a new download should do the trick.

Downloading the .rar appears to be working just fine. The first link if I view in Chrome it just sits on the front page no matter how much I scroll, and if I "save as" and open it on my desktop it gives that error.

Why don't you guys do the "mag" as a blog? Each story is just a separate blog post. You can still have pictures, fonts and all that but it becomes a lot easier for the rest of the community to read. Personally I don't like downloading PDFs because they are more difficult to browse than web pages and I have to download it all instead of just look through what I like.
I can also link blog posts to other players on forums instead of linking the whole magazine. You also have the advantage of instant updates when articles are submitted, finished editing and ready for the public as opposed to waiting each month for a big pdf.
From an ease of access and consumption point of view, I personally think a news blog would be better than the pdf thing you guys have been doing.
Ignore me. I looked at the website for the first time in a long time and it looks like you are doing something like this already. I was just assuming you still did the old "pdf only" thing.

Thank you very much, was really interesting to read about the mists

Dancing Gnome, you do have a point, and we know the instant update things is more comfortable for readers. As I stated, we're currently looking into something that will please us both, so that we still have a magazine while we get rid of the pdf - in the end.
But I appreciate your feedback and we'll certainly look into other, better suited, options.
Great to hear that you've checked out the rest of our site as well, hope you liked that stuff!
