The level cap could be raised past 20...
Inferno Link
On the websites requirements for the new mercenary heroes, it was stated that the requirement be level 20 or above. I believe the mistake was fixed (or if it hasn't please tell us.. I can't find it as of right now.) but perhaps that was a potential hint to raise the level cap?
In this video , John Stumme states more exciting updates to come and this could be it.
Basically, would you welcome a raised level cap?

lolno. Why? Everything is balanced around the levels and attribute points we have now.

There is no reason they would raise level cap for GW1 ever.

The only raise I could see happening would be cosmetic only...i.e. no extra health, no extra energy, no extra attributes...but it actually reported the additional "levels" you earned after hitting max.
But that's not necessarily a good thing...imagine the farmers running around with more than 1000 levels...and group discrimination "LFG for <X>, must be > lvl 500". As if the number of times you've gained a skill point after hitting level 20 actually meant anything about whether you could play.
Although...it would also shut my husband up. I'm sick of hearing "oh look, I'm level 20 again" every time he gains a skill point!

As for the level cap, I think its fine the way it is. That has been one of the greatest things about GW's once you hit lvl 20 its all about the skills, builds, etc. not just a grindfest.

raising the level cap wont do much
besides, there really is no need for it everything is set up around the lvl 20 cap, so why rework everything just so players can say "YaY i'm level 19877886"
kinda stupid. if you actually think about it, raising the level cap would be more work than lets say.. the dervish update was. they would have to go thru the whole game rebalancing mobs in both NM and HM, probably would have to make gear/weapon adjustments, etc
with GW2 on the way, the idea is to keep people pacified with GW1 until release date of GW2

Too late in the game to raise the cap level.

Trust me, people have hundreds/thousands of skill points. Getting to level 30 wont be a big deal

My main has several million xp (can't check from work, but I think last time I looked they had just cracked 10 mill)...and I know there's people who have solo farmed with multi-tens of millions of xp points (verses level 20 = 140k if I remember correctly) - I wouldn't be surprised if some of the DoA/UW farmers were up in the 100s of millions. Any increase in cap = they hit cap immediately. If it's not capped, i.e. it just keeps displaying "equivalent level"...you'll get pug groups (particularly for elite areas) discriminating based on stupid criteria such as "you haven't got at least 10million xp, gtfo noob" - something they can't check at the moment, so they use things like "show stones" (that people can just buy, lol).

It would be neat I think, of course my main would be like lvl 6000
it would be cool just to see that and to see where I rank amongst most players. But /notsigned because of the discrimination points.

TBH, I think it would be better for the PvE game balance-wise if they stripped out all PvE skills and just let you go up to lvl 22 or thereabouts with the corresponding increase in power. Auto downlevel the player for PvP (as they are doing in GW2) of course. Don't see any chance of that happening though.
Kojima
If they do, they owe me lots of level... and I am sure many have more.

I SO want to get one of my characters to over 9000 if they do that xD Although it would be just cosmetic, it would be pretty fun
