Love the new update, but having 7 hero panels takes up a lot of room. Would be cool if anet compressed them somehow. Dont know how they would do this but im sure they could find a way. Any thoughts?

Perhaps add a minimise button next the the 'x' in the corner. Clicking it will remove the face and fight/guard/avoid combat buttons. The target moves up to where the face used to be and the skillbar changes from 1x8 to 2x4. The health and energy bars resize appropriately.

I would use that. The face does nothing, the combat aggression options are rarely changed, and the health/energy bars don't need to be as long as they are now.

Could just combine them all in an expandable menu under the party bar. I'm ok with it as it is now though TBH. My UI is organized to have enough room to fit all of the hero skill bars.

I don't know why the face is even there, probably because they had nothing to put next to the HP/energy bar. All we need is the skillbar, fight/guard/avoid/target, and energy. The skillbar could be smaller if you're not pressing things constantly, fight/guard/avoid/target could be the same size as the x on the titlebars of the hero controls.

I have interface on small already...

I like that Paint idea.

Just add a resize corner like on the Party Formation window for people who'd like certain heroes to have bigger icons for easier microing.

This. I used to be able to neatly fit my heroes in the corners of the screen, but now if I want to micro at all I have to block off like the entire left fifth of the screen. Let us resize them, or give us some sort of toggleable compressed form (like raid panels in WoW) to clear up the screen.

Guild Wars has some great landscapes. I'd like to be able to see them, please.

Just remove unnecessary things like already stated. Or it could just become one panel of it's own, like the Hero panel, so all you have to do is scroll through them or expand them if you have the space. Or both ideas could be used to make the panel even smaller.

Yes a resizable Hero bar would be very welcome. - or a compact option very like the pet bar just controlling aggression.

Programming wise I don’t believe it would be hard to let Henchies inherit the pet control panel either; this might encourage more prophecies players to stick with henchies for a while longer; as the content was developed pre-Hero.

Besides its just Sad that my Dog, (Ice Tooth) is smarter than Stefan If I say Ice Tooth Heel, he Heels; if you say Stefan Stay … not so much. : ) Honestly Stefan is why I went and recruited hero's just could not stand him any longer.

I never micromanage my heroes.

I prefer to bring builds the IA can use reasonably good, and limit the use of those panels to disable their skills so they do not do things when I don't want them to do them.

I'd live to be able to see party energy though. Not only my heroe's.
The panels can be used for that with heroes, but they'll clutter the screen.

And even by compressing the hero panels I won't see other players' energy, so that won't do either.

/signed for making smaller alternative versions (=being able to toggle between the two eventually).
Energy bar, target and skillbar are all that's needed when you keep it open to micro, as behaviour only needs to be changed once in a century, so there could be a simple button to toggle between the two, so you have the minimal one to keep open and the full one to quickly access when you need to change behaviour/you wanna see face and hp as well for some reason.

While this wouldn't be a bad idea it's a more complicated solution to a simple problem.
Most people only micro 1-2 skills on each heroes bar (I only bother with Fallback). Just set up a bind and then you never have to open the hero skill panels.

This is under f11 --> Controls --> order hero x to use skill x.
If you make every skill you want to micro the same number skill its quite simple.

I suppose you could work it so heroes use certain skills when you use some of yours. This might be helpful but i've never tried.

/signed anyway.
