GW Account Removed Because of Aion?!

"Flame Shield On!"

I woke up today in anticipation for the Feature Build. I had turned on my comuter and tried to log in. It said that my account info wasn't recognized. I immediately thought that finally, after 6 years, my account was hacked. So I contacted support and notified them of the problem. In the process I discovered that I forget my NCSoft master account info. After dealing with that I got in my account to find out that my GW account was removed! I rushed to search my spam folder, where I found out that NCSoft sent me several mails about being in a "controversial game currency transaction " in AION. Which I never owned nor played! Ever.

tl;dr:
My GW account was removed because of alleged money transaction which they supposedly have evidence for, in Aion, a game I never owned or played.

What should I write them in the contact details? And can I get my account back or is it lost forever? I need your help.

Um, do beware of such trash emails since spammers send them out by the thousands, quite blindly. especially since I doubt such emails are sent out at all by NCsoft.

Not really questions for us, I'd try contacting Gaile otherwise on her wiki page

Double check if those spam mails were really from NCsoft... I get spam mails about my WoW account being involved with all kinds of weird things but i never owned Wow and the sites they want me to log into are always misspelled ;P Wrldcrft and such stupid things.

So yeah doublecheck! don't follow the links in the mails. go to NCsoft website though GW site or something like that to be sure. Hope you solve it.

If you never owned Aion I am 99.9% certain that those emails were NOT from NCSoft, just regular spam messages (that's probably why they ended up in spam anyway).

call NCSoft about the account you are really having issues with

Be careful about emails...9 times out of 10 it's a fake.

Calling NCSoft expidites the process greatly...Their customer service is the worst so unfortunately you have to play their game. Still put in a ticket on the website.

I had an issue/incorrect banning (yes banning) with my Aion account when I played...took ~2 days to resolve...after that everything was back to normal. Sorry for your luck and good luck to you! If you have any questions, send me a pm.

I sure believe that the mail(s) is/are fake, but the strange thing is, that he can't login to his account. I can't understand this at all.

On the other hand I just logged in and my account is "permanently terminated" for being a gold seller of all things. My password didn't work but in my master account the account was there and I could change the password but when trying to log in I got the message my account was terminated....I swear if my stuff is all gone just like that I am not going to start again and they can stick GW2 where the sun don't shine.

Very upsetting.

Edit: I checked again in my Master Account and the account status for GW says: Playable....makes no sense.

Thank you all for your responses. The emails are valid! (From: NCsoft Support <[email protected]>). My GW account was removed from my NCSoft master account. So my problem isn't a scam of any sort. Unfortunately it's 100% true. What I think has happened, is that my NCSoft master account was hacked and Ingame money sellers used it for Aion. I don't know why they would do that, but then again I don't understand any of it.

I cant call them cos' I live in Israel. But I tried to contact them through their site for help but they said that my "email address not associated with the incident". What? It doesn't make sense!

I will try to contact Gaile through her page, thanks for that advice. The problem is that I enlist on Monday and then I'm off to bootcamp so I don't have a lot of time to handle this.

Hmm it sure sounds strange. If you never even owned Aion and and yet that game seem connected to your problem

Hope Gaile can help you and get to the bottom of it. Good luck

One thing you want to do is view the header of the mail. Spammers *can* send you a mail that says in the From line that it's from [email protected], but it may not be (and again, likely isn't). You need to view the header and see where it came from. If you need help with this, let me know what program you're using and I can try to help. Seeing that it says it's from an address that's "legit" does not mean the emails are valid! I could send anyone a mail right now that says it's from "[email protected]".

I get mails from "legit" WoW/Blizzard email addresses all the time - but viewing the headers show that it's actually from some hotmail, aol, or other such account. I've never played WoW so I just throw them out.

If you can't get into your GW account at all, contact support, have all your keys (or as many as you can find) available to give them, they will be needed in most cases.

Do not click on ANY link in ANY email you've been sent. Do NOT enter your password on any site you've clicked on from within a mail. If you already have, well, you might have already given up your account info.

This.

Today I got an e-mail from [email protected] which is a valid blizzard (WoW) e-mail address. However, the e-mail actually originated from blizzad.com, the scammer's address.

even if they were from NCsoft there is a way of a hacker/program sending messages through them without them even knowing. so even if it is from NCsoft it could still be untrustworthy.

contact Anet directly by phone to resolve issues quickly.

I never clicked any link or shared any of my information. I checked my email only after not being able to connect to GW. And the only sites I've been to that're related to these emails are NCSoft.com and NCSoft.net.

I can't contact NCSoft or Anet through the phone because I don't live in the US.

Good, I'm glad to hear it about the links. A support ticket should do the trick. I hope you can get it all straightened out!

The header won't help you every time. I can send e-mails from [email protected], no problem, just the originating IP will be weird :P

Most of the time (I get those e-mails daily, never played WoW), I just look at the target of the URLs inside the message.

P.S.: Do click on such links that ask you to verify your account, then use iMacros to spam 1kk random sign in attempts

I got my account back. It was apparently hacked. 99% of my armors (I had more than 15 elites, and all of the EotN head gears), every unded mini and weapon, all of my money and prized possessions are gone. (I had 5 mules, just full of valuable stuff) I have no reason to play this game anymore. I can't believe it. I never shared any of my info, it's NCSoft fault. I know that it sounds petty but it's because of their Master Account bull...Whatever at least I got all the rewards for GW2 right?

Lol, and at the day of the Feature Build?! C'mon!!! dammit.

Everyone, enjoy GW and protect your account in any way possible. Don't forget to also protect your NCSoft Master Account. I love this community!

Bye now
