Survivor in pre-Searing - How soon until Legendary Survivor?
Shayne Hawke
No, I did not do it myself just yet, but I noticed during a 2-hour play period today that I had earned myself about 10k experience from the Vanguard quest. At 5k an hour, that would put getting Survivor somewhere around 28 hours of gameplay, and Legendary Survivor somewhere around 268 hours, or a little more than eleven straight days of play time.
However, when crunching these numbers, I have to remember that I was working with a level 14 character against level 11 enemies and bosses of level 14. Once I get to level 20, the experience gain will slow down to about a third of how fast it goes for me now. That puts Legendary Survivor closer on the order of thirty days of play time, which in real time is probably going to be more like three months of work if you can sink a good part of your day into it every day, two months and a week if you're a NEET, and six to twelve months if you only give yourself a few hours every day to grind it out.
I'm interested in hearing about anyone else's thoughts on and experience with the speed of progression through Survivor in pre-Searing and how soon we can see a Legendary Survivor title pop-up there.

My understanding is that the tiers go from 10-13 with enemies being level 8 and bosses being 11, 14-16 with enemies being 11 and bosses being 14, and 17-20 with enemies being 15 and bosses being 20. So, you'd get about 16XP per quest enemy kill and about 128XP from a boss compared to my current 48XP per quest enemy kill and 200XP per boss.

I will never doubt the existence of someone in the world who feels that their entire life rests in having something unique for a short period in an online game. I'm not even going to look at your poll options, I'm just picking the shortest.
I eagerly await the aftermath of someone being 90% of the way there and dieing because they fell asleep during a run, though
EDIT: It was my understanding that normal enemies have been seen to go up to lvl 17.

I'm going to guess it will take four months or so. Someone will be gung-ho enough to grind the quests over and over as much as they can before cashing in on those rewards. The real challenge will come when someone hits level 20, because without the fire imp...and level 20 enemies...it's gonna get rough.

Can you take the quest kill the enemies abandon it and repeat? I haven't really been reading to see if this is possible just asking it since my presearing toon is only lvl 9 I honestly don't know.

Remember that these mobs are not easily soloable.
Some have innate health regeneration, so a player alone may not have both enough healing and damage to stand them.
It's more effective to go with a partner, and the imp can't be used at level 20.
There seem to be three 'tiers':
Player level 11..13: Enemies level 8, special enemies 9, and bosses 11.
Player level 14..16: Enemies level 11, special enemies 12, and bosses 14.
Player level 17..20: Enemies level 15, special enemies 16, and bosses 18.
I suppose it will take less than 2...4 months to a couple of dedicate players that collaborate to make it, going at it for several hours a day.
Way more for less dedicated players.
It would take 3 years by just making the daily quests, after all.

Question about this, I thought the quests were scaled and there were 3 tiers depending on the level. If you are level 20 what will the level of the enemies be?

I already now see people asking for a lvl17+ and offering payment for them to spawn the desired monsters and then leave. They will figure out a way to have it.

I can see it being done in 2 months---farming the quests during the day with a guildee or somesuch...

Just comes down to will, cause you can just farm the new mobs all day and then accept reward at end.
lol, >12months is in second, i really hope no ones still mindlessly farming pre searing a year from now
