Hey. I am aware that Purple Crystalline swords drop in Sorrow's from chests.

I am wondering if they drop more, or the same in HM as they do in NM.

Can anyone tell me?

Thanks.

Drop rates are not affected by HM or NM.

Sorry for short answer, I had to run and do something. Anyways, drop rates are always the same. The only thing that changes with HM is you get lockpicks and tomes added into the available items. And chests in HM are more likely to give you gold items.

Grrr, and that had nothing to do with your question. Purple (uncommon rarity) Crystalline Swords drop in either mode as they are only available in purple from Sorrows, UW or FoW chests.

Yes, Darcy. Thanks for that. I am wondering if my chances of getting a purple sword from these chests will improve or not in HM or NM?

No, your chances do not change with HM or NM.

Great. Will the weapons damage vary? Or will it (most likely) be maxed? (11-22)

Doesn't the chance for a purple crystalline decrease when opening chests in HM? Because you are more likely to get a gold item (= less likely to get a purple)

Unless the chests ONLY drop purple, independant of the mode.

The only chests that drop Crystallines in SF are the special, keyless chests spawned during Kilroy's quest. These chests always drop purples and are not affected by HM or NM.

I knew it was just the "Chest" that dropped them. Thank you for the info.

I farmed loads of crystallines on the killroy quest years ago, back then the chest would usually drop 5-6 purples.
Last time I checked, it only drops 1-3 now.
Out of ~25 crystallines only 2 were max 14^50, and it took a lot of runs.

I did a few of those runs years ago. Ironically the first Crystalline I got was max 14^50 (req10).

According to Wiki, the drops are attributed to a random party member. Does that mean they can be attributed to heroes? Does the flagging your heroes away trick before opening the chest work?

yes, they can be attributed to heroes. Flagging does work.

Yup. I tend to play the quest through to the end, ignoring the chests, then flagging the heroes away and retracing my steps.

i'm doing it,it's fun.
<2 Min to run in sorrow,7-8min to finish and open chests too.
