Now that there are 7 heroes, and perhaps mercenary heroes, what's on your "I ought to try" list?
For me...
- Now that my warrior has an Orders hero who runs Blood Ritual as a sideline, maybe I should take another look at actual monks with 10+ Divine Favour and monk runes. See how they compare with the necro/ele heal and prot I've been using.
- I'd like to try a minion master, rather than minion bomber, a hero who tries to keep his minions alive. Something like Order of Undeath, 2-3x Animate AL 80 minion, Blood of the Master, Masochism, more. If you have a front line player character, bring Ebon Battle Standard of Honor.
- I can try using a ST prot rit with them. AL 80 minions won't take enough damage to trigger Shelter on every hit like AL 40 suicide minions, and I actually want them protted. I like ST protters a lot, but they don't work so well with minion bombers. I'd like to see whether they work with minion masters.
- I want to build a rush team, something to use in easy stuff. It wouldn't be as strong as my usual panoply of minions and spirits, but I wouldn't need to bind 10 spirits before a fight or use Animate Bone Minions 5 times after one. This might not actually be any quicker than my normal team, because it'll take longer to kill things and involve some wiping, but it might feel faster. Basically it's a middling zpug without the PvE skills but with better team synergy.
- I ought to try assorted endgame stuff with heroes, particularly the places that don't let you take henchmen.
- If I paid (I'm really skint) for a mercenary hero slot, I could have 3 rit or 4 necro heroes. Wow.
