Why the lack of focus on speed?

With 7 heroes, you shouldnt just make a build that can handle increased pressure and do FoW or whatever else youre inclined to do. You can do so much more! Im just thinking loosely around the subject here but there's anything from adding a couple of instances of fall back to using the boosts given by Ebon Vanguard battle standards should fall under priorities, at least thats how I think.

This isent an oppurtunity to add another healer to your current team setup, itæs the oppurtunity to remove one! Add damagedealers instead, add knockdowns and cowbells and make something never seen before

If you were allready capable of vanquishing every area in the game with your current team, is it really a good idea to add a panic mes instead of say an ineptitude or esurge?

Why is speed so important? Those that choose to not speed clear and be stupid don't do it, so making hero builds that can do just that may not be of interest to them. The builds I came up with work extremely well, probably can't do DoA HM but I am not looking to. But anywhere else they work efficiently enough, and that's all i need.

With 7 heroes, you can clear almost every area of the game with a copy spirit light and PwK. There is a significant amount of room for increased damage and speed.

Speed was never an issue for me and still isn't. In two days I've completed City of Torc'Qua, and Stygian Veil, both NM using 3 Discord, 1 SoS, 1 Soul Twisting, 1 Panic, & 1 Ineptitude. I run an Assassin's Promise R/A. I never expected 7 heroes to allow me to do speed clears or anything else appreciably faster. What it has done, and very successfully IMO, is allow me to finally not have to deal with the BS in finding decent parties to do places like DoA AT ALL. So I'm happy...thanks ANet!

I havent run 2 healers in about a year, even with hero hench. I usually just relied on mhenlo for red bar, and a bit of resto/party support on my sos and prots on my mm. The rest was irrelevant.

Through that set up I was able to make better times hero hench then average full human teams can make, including areas like Frostmaws/Slavers/Shards HM.

I too would like to focus on speed. Being able to roll through VQ's as fast as possible should be priority. Why waste any more time than neccisary. With that in mind I too am curious what builds could be created to maximize this.

The 7 heroes build is an opportunity to play the game the way you wish to, speed may be important or not its all down to the individual.

I'm stacking defense just a bit to survivor while i vanquish. Will stack the offense after that.

Speed stopped being fun about 2 years ago. With 7 heroes, experimentation is the name of the game now.

^That guy hit it square on the head, speed=grind=boring repetitive autonomy. Not only that, a hero 'speed' clear party won't likely ever be as fast as a human speed clear, so really what's the point... I'm not saying give no consideration to offense, but what I'm getting at is now players can figure out a balanced, reliable yet flexible team without the boring grind, dumbass pugs, or cheap gimicks.

I thought pretty much everyone had begun to create builds under the mantra: "dual fall back is the balls."

I know I certainly am.

dual "fall back" is pve win with minions, 15+ health while moving keeps them alive between battles and the speed boost helps get you all to the next fight plus other command skills like "go for the eyes" makes sure it's not a wasted attribute investment just for a speed boost.
