can there be a concise description with some examples please.
so far as i see when u DIE it says that u have to get enough experience to match the experience u had RIGHT before you died.
what i dont understand is, i never died, nor lagged out to my knowledge and simply just logged off for the day for a short break... and then come to find out when i got back on and went vaettir farming, i wasn't getting any experience
and had to match the experience i had before logging off...
this means i have to start my happy ass all the way over from the beginning getting R2(i already had r1) so... 200k xp and i gotta start it all over.
so basically what im saying that IT says is...finish a rank or u have to start ur butt all over to get the next rank from where u left off
description of it says when i die. yet it can simply check how much experience i had and compare it to my deaths but it counts it as when i log off then log back on i have 0 since death...which isnt the case when i check my title

It is very simple.
Get rank 1, you can display rank 1. If you die before you get rank 2, you can still display rank 1, but you have to start from 0 xp again.
Get rank 2, you can display rank 2. If you die before you get rank 3, you can still display rank 2, but you have to start from 0 xp again.
Get rank 3, you can display rank 3. If you die after you get rank 3, it doesn't matter, you have maxed the title.
Dying before rank 1 obviously just resets it.
The title itself is just stuck on the max XP you have gotten ever without a death (since the update of course).
Type /deaths to see how much XP you have accumulated since your last death (this does not reset on logging out, only on death).

concise description: if you die, whatever exp gained for survivor rank is reset, so if you had 1336999 exp when you died, you will have to regain ALL the exp all over again.

You need to realize what which status display means.
Title screen: displays the best result achieved so far (the most XP you have achieved without dieing). When you die, the display continues to display your best result. Your best result determines if you can display any titles - as soon as you exceed the amount required for a title, you can display that title.
/deaths command: displays the amount of experience you have earned since your last death, IE. your current attempt's status.

When you log off, are you taking your character to a town or guild hall first, or are you leaving it in an explorable? Are you actually logging off, or just closing the client? When you log on to find you have zero XP since death, is your death count higher than it was before?

i killed he vaettir...in this case all 60 in HM traveled to kamadan then closed the client, either way if i closed the client in an explorable area or in a town it should count as logging off no? i didnt die... and if the old survivor didnt count closing the client or logging off as dieing why would it do it now. its still a grind to get the next title and match ur last experience count. and get this...as an example
i had the opportunity to log on yesterday and try to get my 200 xp to catch up...and got to like 170 xp before the RANDOM KICKING( while anet does maintenance while the server is still up) and lost my progress. bitching or not its an unfair advantage to us who've been randomly kicked since the derv update and several others have been having the problem.
im simply asking...make it where ew log off that it does not make us have to start over from 0 xp
and it wasnt the internet connection.

Logging off does not reset the counter, only dying.
However, disconnecting does not always log you off immediately, you may stay in the explorable area for several seconds or even longer. If you are soloing vaettir and there are still some alive while you disconnect, you will probably die.

I think you're still having issues understanding how it works. Complete the following steps:
*If GW is already open, log off and close it just to be sure.
*Run GW again and log in.
*Type in /deaths.
*If it gives you 0 and you're sure that there is no chance that you could have been killed by anything when you last logged off, you have a problem. Otherwise it's working as intended. Generally speaking, you should ignore what is displayed in the title panel and pay attention to what /deaths gives.
