Mercenary Hero question(s).
jonnieboi05
So, I've been away from Guild Wars for many many many months. I've probably accumulated a total of 30 minutes of online time in the last 6+ months, so I'm a bit out of the loop with what's been going on. Anyways... Here are my questions:
•If you delete a mercenary hero after creating then, will that slot be permanently gone, forcing you to having to rebuy that 1 slot in the future if you ever wish to use it again? Or will that slot still be there until you choose to refill it again?
•Are the slots character-based? As in, if you buy an 8-pack (example) per character? Or could I buy an 8-pack, clone 8 character, and use those 8 characters across my entire account freely?
•And last question: Would buying mercenary heroes basically allow me to have, say, 7 monk heroes in my party?
Thanks!

Yes. You may create for example a PvP only monk, add him/her as your hero, delete the character and create another, add again, etc.

Thanks a bunch, Pleikki and Arctica. I really appreciate the prompt answers.

So u can steamroll pve with say 7 x discord if u felt like it? o.O
Bristlebane
I would prefer 7 pink Barrage Rangers with flamingos,
and you stand back spamming Great Dwarf Weapon on the rangers for knock down fun.

A) you need 7 slots, costing money
B) you need to level up 7 necromancer characters (you can't duplicate yourself, although possibly renaming could work)
C) there are better ways to steamroll PvE without 7x discord
Arduin
Pleikki
Also u allready got 3 necro heros so ud only need to use 4 mercenary ones to have 7 discord heros

Btw, I recently made a Merc based on a Ranger. I had the Ranger set to not display the mask (headpiece) but the merc ended up showing the mask anyway. So, I deleted the Merc, removed the Ranger's mask and remade the Merc. The resulting merc doesn't show any mask, but has a generic headpiece in the proper armor slot.

If you buy your characters to play as merc do they get drops? Maybe the 40 + bucks would be more worth it

Mercenary heroes are, essentially, regular heroes that look like one of your characters. There's nothing else changed from a mechanics standpoint as far as I know. If a regular hero can't do it, these guys won't do it, either.

They won't do it, but they'll look better not doing it.
