Signed happily. As so many have pointed out, Pre is a training grounds. Therefore nothing should be set in stone, especially a secondary profession. I think you should even be able to change your primary. Who cares it's a training area. It doesn't affect YOU in any way , people that have whined and cried and said Nooooo.
Let's keep in mind that this game dies a little every day. It's coming up on 7 years soon, so changes like this could breathe new life into a game that could sorely use it. Once GW2 launches, this game will be truly dead. The only ones playing then will be to farm titles or get things for HOM.
I find it ludicrous that people that farmed the LDoA title through an exploit (yes death leveling was an exploit) are up in arms over Anet putting in a fix with the DQs. Consider yourselves lucky you didn't get perma-banned for blatantly exploiting in order to achieve a title never intended to be earned in pre.
Secondary Profession Changer in Pre-Searing

Pre-Searing is BASIC training grounds, a tutorial. Like the short tutorials in Factions and Nightfall, just way bigger and with "free-roam".
After that there's still the next part of training.
Actual training ends after you fulflil all of the following:
- You make both +15 attribute quests.
- You reach the signet of capture quest.
- You ascend and can change profession.
- You reach level 20.
As you can see, that's pretty much from Shing Jea to Nahpui in Factions, from Istan to the Sunspear Sanctum in Nightfall, and pretty much all of Prophecies until Tombs.
To allow changing secondary profession, the character must be marked as 'ascended'.
I'd love to see some quest to go to the desert and ascend directly from Lion's arch instead having to go through Kryta and Maguuma first, but ascending in pre-Searing would be a bit too soon, like Ascending in the Factions and Nightfall tutorials areas.

While I may agree with you in principle, and don't really have an issue with changing secondaries in Pre, I think more than enough reasoned arguments for not implementing it have been made as to not require another one. As for the rest of your statement, well changing primaries is not mechanically possible for player characters (nor should it be - yes, some things can and should be set in stone in a game), and no comment on the ranting.
Nothing is going to prevent players from leaving the game until we reach that dedicated core group (me included) that will continue playing for as long as possible. Allowing changing of secondaries in Pre will not change that, nor will it breathe new life into the game. Pre is a very small part of a much larger picture and more than enough has been done already for the Permas than was really necessary. The area was never designed to be "Perma-ed".
Uhmm, the LDoA title was created specifically to reward those very players who discovered and used the exploit to reach level 20 in Pre. It is a Pre-specific and -only title.
