So after my video card died in my Gaming Laptop (which I've had for almost 4 years) I started to plan on building a pretty nice gaming rig and here is what I came up with. I think I did my research properly but just as a precaution and to make sure there wasn't anything I missed / compatibility issues I figured I would post this here.

EDIT: After taking a lot of advice, reading guides, I've come up with my final build listed below:

My Decisions: UPDATED
Mobo
CPU
Graphics Card
Power Supply
Case
HDD
SSD
Monitor

Other Stuff
RAM
Optical Drive
Wireless Card

You need a P67 Motherboard to use a 2600K.

I would get a GTX 560Ti over the GTX470.... and unless you're going to SLI to GTX 570's, 750w would be a waste of money. THIS is more than enough.

Oh wow, that could have gone bad! (Your input is greatly appreciated! )

What should I be looking for in the P67 mobo then? (I've noticed prices ranging from $140-$380 and have no idea what everything means.)

You may have to wait a few days or more to get some P67 mobos; due to the chipset/usb port issues they had, not all are in ready supply just yet.... but they should be soon enough. -------------- If I was looking to do a system overhaul myself I would get the following motherboard (sold out right now):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-574-_-Product

& a 2500k CPU... this will do everything the avid gamer needs at a cheaper cost than the 2600k....

I would buy the Twin Frozr GTX 560 --- they are essentially the same, but the MSI has a better cooler.

The PSU Cheese linked too is plenty as long as you don't go SLI in the future.

You need something like this to go wireless, or a simple usb thumb drive type adapter works too:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16833315041

You don't need a sound card.

Everything else looks fine to me, although you might save $20 on the HDD if you shopped around some more.

Thanks a bunch!

So drop the nic Card and get what you linked?

Also, I noticed the motherboards weren't sold out through http://www.tigerdirect.ca/
I have positive experience with them so wouldn't mind using them, and noticed they have a bigger selection too (possibly?).

Not too sure why you'll be using a wireless connection "at times." Either your desktop is going to be wired to the router or it isn't, surely? I am confusion.

As you're in Canadaland, sure - go Tigerdirect. Newegg is far and away the best IT etailer in the States, but I think delivery charges need to be cosidered for those of you in America's awesome hat.

For the first month or so I'll be using Wireless then after that I'll be switching stuff around and wire it directly to my router.

EDIT: FULLY UPDATED MAInPOST!

Edit2: Fully updated again, ordering parts in the morning!
