My Code 227 error

Hopefully someone may have advice on this little problem...
I logged in to GW last night and played for a couple hours..I was clearing the area around thunderhead keep..I was abruptly DC'd..when I tried to log back in I received a code 227 error..
what's odd is that the error is telling me my account info is wrong..but I managed to log in and play before this happened..literally it happened while I was playing.
Ive sent a ticket to support..nothing except an automated confirmation email.
Ive tried a password reset..no email to verify or supply a new pass.
Ive never given access to my account to anyone..ever.
I don't use third party programs.
So I tried logging in today..all my account info is still at the login screen..when I enter my pass..code 227.
I change to a different character name..code 227

Unfortunately it sounds like you were hacked :0, Beset thing you can do is wait for support to reply. Its the weekend though, It may take a while. Sorry

yerp not only should u wait...but to keep everything ok...call anet soon as possible in te morning, tell them ur info...along with a coupe of CD keys...talk to them about how to lock your account so NO ONE can get in....itll be LOCKED...and prevent any bastard from getting in...make sure u have ur info ready though.

The same thing happened to me.Support confirms I was hacked and after submitting all the info they asked for,I am waiting and hoping for good news.I do have a Question tho.
Did you buy anything from the plaync store?I purchased the 3x Mercenary pack & was hacked within a matter of minutes.After 5 years of keeping my information super secure,its the only thing I can think of.

Well, if hes gonna hack you, why not now? Its not a matter of why he hacked now. It just happens. I was hacked on thanksgiving day. I was just like wtf?
Its easy to change the pass fairly quickly as well. Also, Im sure this community is more than willing to help you out. When you get back your acc hit me up

Thanks cubs , it's always nice to know someone knows how perplexing and frustrating something like this can be.I've known some of the community here on Guru as well as ingame..and everyone I've met is always civil and helpful.

Relating to your problem but also a question I have. Sometimes I wonder, how could they know your one character name to put in. Could it be that it was someone you actually played with? This question bugs me.

Just as an update , my account issue has been resolved.If I remember correctly the "person" I was connected to through support was someone I have talked to in the past (if memory serves correctly)..my account was reset and after carefully checking through my characters and items it seems I am good to go.
I was able to reset everything from NCsoft master account and game related info.The support for me was fantastic and incredibly swift.I didn't really get an explanation as to what exactly happened , but all in all my issue was resolved and for that I am extremely happy with support.

Good to hear. I started getting error 227 yesterday, hopefully I have just as much luck as you. Unfortunately I do not have access to my NCsoft account, but hopefully CD keys are good enough for them to help me out.

Im glad everything worked out Pariah! I just got my account bact this evening to find everything stripped.all cash,armor,weapons,even all hero weapons and runes.the funny thing is someone was using my sin to farm ToPK and left my sin armor alone and left 11 ecto on the char.before the account was locked.Oh well.....heres to a new beginning.

i am having the same issue right now, i have access to my NCsoft master account, i've changed my GW game pass so many times, didn't work, it could be my account was hacked and they removed all my characters.

I just came back from a 3 year hiatus, and unfortunately i also received this error code 227. But i don't have my cd keys =/. Am i SOL?

This just happened to me tonight. I've never given out account information to anyone. I can't even log into my NCsoft account. If anyone wants to see if Death Adda is online and yell at them for hacking my account be my guest.

Guys, I am having the same problem as you. I logged off on Sunday night and found out whilst trying to log-in late Monday morning.
I have contacted NCsoft Support and they now have all my details. I am now awaiting for the all clear from them to get access again.
Whomever the slimy scum is that is hacking GW accounts, I hope he gets his just rewards in hell.

Azalyn, email support. I emailed them and the escalated to a senior after 45 min. Still waiting to hear back. I provided them with my access code from the original CD's for prophecies and factions. Hopefully that will speed things up.
For the record Sunday night was the last login for me as well. I have only 1 other guild mate who said I was online last night. So I'm thinking they probably nabbed my stuff.

So, I logged in on my other account, and of course I saw the guy switching through all my characters. I sent a email to ncsoft support of course.
But then I messaged the guy, and he replied. Of course the truthfulness of anything he says would be questioned.
But, he said he bought the account online on a forum. I can't get anything else out of him at this time, and I don't know if that response is normal, as I've never been hacked. Just thought I would post it up.

Argh! I don't have my codes for the original, not even sure I have them for the last one. This is such garbage. I sent them what info I could remember. Hopefully they can help me soon.

This is unreal. I see they just "updated" the security features on the 2nd and now after 5 years of no problems I am hacked. What is wrong with that picture??

Nothing, you got phished or keylogged. It is your fault, not a fault of NCSofts new security measures. Chances are you were keylogged / phished months ago and they just now got around to stealing your account.

I disagree. I don't get caught up in phishing scams, no way I could have been key logged either. I don't click on links and put in passwords in any email. Like I said, 5 years with never a problem.

Wow this is horrible..all I can say is that when this happened in my OP , I emailed support very quickly..(it happened while I was playing actually)..from there in the email I stated, y'know..I've had my account for 5 years..all campaigns..here's my characters names..heres my email..user name and email...and boom within a day I was back up and running.
I offered to gather the CD Keys and whatnot..(which I reeeeally didn't want to do , but was willing)..they then emailed me a link to reset..done and done.
All I can offer, is to email them..be specific and to the point.
Be patient..it will get resolved..hopefully everything is ok with your items..all my stuff was fine..fingers crossed.
I am willing to help anyone in game if items/cash are legitimately stolen.

Yeah Dana, I know what you mean. They're clearly having a lot of these issues, meaning its not really on us....

Just a quick update. I was hacked and ncsoft reset everything for me. It took them a couple days. Like everyone has been saying, the more info you provide to them the better.

Edit: Seems like my error was just a technical one. I called support and they said that there wasn't any password change. I changed my password using my NCSoft Master Account and now it works just fine again.
Edit 2: Oh dear, it was a hacker after all. He took my gold and my Ecto stacks. Luckily he didn't destroy character armor or weapons or delete any characters, so that's a relief.

ya, jus call up support and theyll help u out...when I finally logged on, the hacker salvaged or trashed all my fow armor and chaos gloves, my ecto and gold was gone....so im finally done with gw lol. wata relief

Since today I have the error 227 problem as well. I resetted my password, but I have received no email (yet) from NcSoft, but I see that can take up to 24 hours so ill be offline for a day.
So I guess when I get back the 996K gold in my storage will be gone, along with my ectoplasms, I just hope that my characters are not deleted.

It has now been ONE WEEK today and my account has still not been reset and I have not heard from them since last Tuesday.
