Screen Capture Difficulties &Tattoo Help

I've been playing Guild Wars for several years now and in that time I've noted that the occasional in-game graphic could make a lovely tattoo - specifically I'm talking about the animations that accompany certain spells in combat (not to be confused with the icons in a skill bar). I've finally decided that I want to base my next tattoo on the white, upside down gargoyle that appears when Fanged Iboga cast Conjure Phantasm.

The problem is, I'm having a really difficult time getting a larger, unobstructed screen capture and I'm not entirely sure how I would go about modifying it (there are details I want to remove - the curly bits around the arms/claws and the ball thingy) and creating an outline: any suggestions?

You want it as a tattoo being a real tattoo with ink in the skin? Then you probably want it in black ink.

My first idea would be is talk to a tatooinker and ask what he needs so make it (perhabs this image is enough). Or you could just enlarge the picture and go over it in black, just trace the lines. Perhabs a little bit greyish tone for the outsides of it. Shouldn't be too hard.

But perhabs you could be a bit more specific with what you want/need.

you could find a graphic artist/general drawer who could trace and edit it to your liking...that'd be the best option. then talk to the tatoo artist on the further details

btw, lovely tattoo idea...you have inspired me actually

Ask a drawer in guildwars to make a sketch?
that, imo, would be the best, since they know how it looks, can see it 1000 times in game, to make it look really good!

it would be nice to see the finished work, if you want to post a pic here, or Pm me for my mail

take your screen shots then use graphic editing software (i use Photoshop)
crop your icon or object you want to enlarge, enlarge the object, save as a new image.
You want to use a high end program to minimise quality loss of image.
Print out your new image and as suggested take to a tattoo artist and let them decide on if they can use as a template or not.

i did an example:

i have a number of tattoos and im pretty sure they would be able to use this.

Great idea btw!!

Never notcied that before, and you're right it's pretty good tattoo material. Is there a list of these kind of animations? Can't find one on wiki.

You could go ask someone to do a scrimmage, go to a dark wall and ask him to cast it on you, then you screenshot it and voila!

Ask Anet. I have a tatoo of the twin Dragons that you see in Raisu Palace on the ground. I sent Anet a screenshot of the image that I wanted and they sent me back a high rez image.

All they request is that the image is not added to the tatoo artists body of work or be part of their image library.
