Bow to me Blackblood
Pariah Hellfire
Calista asked for it..the gauntlet was thrown..soooo what do I win?
Heres a screen of the date..
Heres a screen of the completed Chamber quest..nine minutes..truth be told I could have done it faster if I wasn't texting and watching CNN.
The first Dhuum, just wait until it is at about this point and cast SS on him..for whatever reason you won't be hit if you stand exactly where I am.
The second Dhuum..(to get to smites)..you just need to cast SS again..and stand where I am..he won't hit you.
Yea so I missed a Dhuum screen on the way to smites..this is the second one you encounter..wall block here and you're fine.
This is just to rub it in a little..
So I would like to be known as Pariah "Holy S**t" Hellfire from now on..
I'm not about to give ALL my secrets away.
Feel free to delete this thread if you wish after..thanks for the challenge Calista..good fun.

i've been doing this for eons
Pariah Hellfire
Yep so have I..I don't know why people assume it can't be done anymore..you just need to be patient..add Dunkoro in there as an SB/SV and I can tear UW up...still.
If theres 2 things I know really well about GW it's 55'ing and UW.
Oh and considering the "challenge" so to speak was for me to do this solo as a N/Mo with the SS build..and to provide screenshots..until I see proof you can do this , I don't believe you can.

Neat, but you mind linking to the challenge itself? (if it is on a guru thread). Thanks!

It's really not that hard to view users' old posts.
Pariah Hellfire
Ailina : It wasn't really a Guru challenge
I called out Calista on UW soloing (perfectly fun)..Calista challenged me to prove it..hence Blackblood must concede to my greatness!..of course I'm kidding.
LOL deluxe : I don't know what to say to that...

Kaida the Heartless
Just bait the Aatxes/Squids (lol, forgot name) with Mending, LoS on Skeletons, Blanket Smites with Suffering. This is old as dirt. Why didn't Calista know about this?
Pariah Hellfire
Kaida : the technique is old for sure..but with the addition of Skeletal Dhuums , Graspings and tighter Shadow spawns it's become much more difficult...
I can say I'm a Chinese Jet Pilot..doesn't mean it's true..anyone can say.."oh I can do that"..but it is actually challenging now..nut up or shut up (I mean that in the nicest way hah)..post up some screens if you can do this!

OK I have an idea...
If anyone can post and say "oh I can do that"..prove it..
Post "progression" screens of you as:
A) A N/Mo w/the build I'm using above
B) You must be solo
C) NO perks at all ..no heros/summoning stones..etc.
D) Solo to at least the last Dhuum I've shown
I'll give you 10k and a Palawa unded ingame..first one in wins.
Don't get the wrong impression..I don't think I'm special and I don't take this seriously..just a harmless challenge..all in fun!!..what have you got to lose..only took me 15 mins approx.
KCP excluded..

Pariah Hellfire
Yeah I originally posted this in the Necro forum..I didn't really consider it a farm or anything..just a personal challenge..but it was moved here.
I guess after five years (ish) I can brag at least once though

How do you deal with the dying nightmares? Seems really hard to pull the aatxe and graspings without running into them too.
Pariah Hellfire
Aly :
**tip : using a melee weapon (my little enchanted axe there) will awaken a skill use to the Aatxes arsenal..while using a wand will generally put that skill to sleep (they won't use it)..that added skill can sometimes buy you enough time to throw an enchantment up fast if you know what order these monkeys use their skills in..so swapping weapons is highly effective.
**tip for insta gib nightmares: is to have all your enchants up (Mending,Essence and Balts)..and when you hear or see a Nightmare pop..cast Protective Spirit on yourself..let it rend you.
**tip : when you know there will be a Graspingx2 and Nightmare group..have all enchants up..swap to a high HP armor set and HP+ weapon set)..wand set is preferred..allow them to approach you..and cast Prot on yourself before aggro..then cast SS on the closest Grasping..the nightmare will rend itself..Grasping will generally kill themselves with SS..try and toss HB on yourself though at some point avoiding Skull Crack and Disrupt.
Hope maybe this helps a little..timing is key.

Deadly Riposte/Riposte are the skills you are talking about. They have no cast time, and thus, won't help you regardless of your weapon set. If anything, you can count on a bit more energy through auto-attacking. Just spam Mending and count the savage slashes for the Aatxes.
Also, I wouldn't say difficult as much as I would say slow. The amount of caution and mind you need to pay now is rediculous, esp. since the Nightmare spawns move.
Graspings can be killed using a Regular Armor Set/Shield and Healing Breeze with only a single cast of SS. Aggro them with SS, cast Healing Breeze while they move towards you. Follow up with another SS if you manage to snag a half-recharge to speed up the kill.
Many nightmares can be still be popped before hitting the quest. They are only a concern when Aatxes are also present. If you are caught in said situation, kite away from the enemies with the Nightmare selected and watch his cast bar. Time your Prot Spirit to hit after removal. Remember, if you are on your last Prot Spirit before the recharge will expire, take 2 steps away from the Aatxes when they attack; this will make your Prot Spirit uninterruptable (they won't be in range, but be quick). When they get to you, cast Mending to bait Savage, then Healing Breeze. Keep running. If you are using Reversal of Fortune instead of Orison of Healing, you can use this to completely mitigate an attack (with the added bonus of occasionally pulling a Savage Slash).
If you can't LoS a skeleton, you can cast Healing Breeze when they cast Flurry of Splinters (that's the right spell name, right?) and strafe from side to side. You will dodge their attacks and out heal the AoE damage. It is also possible to dodge the AoE this way. Make sure you have your high HP armor on.
If you aggroed too many Smite Crawlers and are slowly dying, take a step back. The travel time between their next attack will allow to to heal fully.
Melee the Aatxes, don't Melee the smites... that's all I got. Pretty sure this was covered already, but just in case it wasn't, there ya go.

Kaida : nicely put, you're very smart..although the actual casting time/non casting time of Deadly Riposte wasn't really what I was getting at..if you understand the mechanics of what weapons affect the skill order, you often know what is going to be used next in the chain..there still is that gap between their skills usages that can be used to your advantage..not while the actual skill is being used in this case..this works for Obsidian Burrowers as well btw but in a different capacity.
Very similar to the chain Smites use in a Smite Hex boogie..casting Suffering on a group of 5 Smites..find the 5th Smite to cast "Smite Hex" and cast SS on that one..SS won't be removed when recovered with Suffering , knowing the chain and skill casting order helps alot in most cases, in this particular example the last Smite/Spell cast in the chain is very usefull to the aggressor..you..it just gives (me at least) that window to know what to cast next and cast early/fast..it's just how I taught myself in this case and has never failed me..kinda the same line I was thinking about Melee weapon/Deadly Riposte..knowing whats being cast next and when..yadda yadda..
Yes using Mending or any other cover enchant works really well when trying to pull out Savage Slash..but I've leaned more towards Orison first..they really seem to like to try and trip that up..plus it's a lower energy cost to you..unless you need to spam it..the higher cast time is always nice from any of the enchants of course..but I've found 9 times out of 10 if you cast Orison or any spell for that matter, just before the first Aatxe hits you..it'll always start with Savage Slash...Orison is just that lower energy cost..not exactly sure the energy burn you take from RoF or casting time.
As for reseting yourself and staying alive after being rended..there are obviously various ways to do that..alot of it is skill combined with smarts and luck I suppose..and Red Bull.
When I enter (in this case UW), just spawning in gives me a good idea what, is where..in this case buried Nightmares..if Aatxes are pinned to a wall or facing a certain way or a patrol is stumped, many times I can determine where the Nightmare is buried..although I have been wrong and yelled at my monitor.
As for Dhuums..yea no need to kite any of them..I've found nearly ALL can be wall blocked if you know where to bait them..easy as pie..delicious Dhuum pie.
