Urgoz And Forced Skills
SpyderArachnid
Was rather disturbed and upset over this.
I have never done Urgoz in all my years of playing, and thought "Hey with the new hero update, my friend and I can do it finally".
Though it came to my attention, that we can't complete this dungeon unless we have some sort of teleport to get us to the upper level and pull the levers.
Does it seem a bit wrong that we are forced to change our builds for one skill in order to continue in a dungeon? I have never had to change my build just to go any further in any dungeon anywhere.
The worst is, those that actually use two professions are forced to abandon their build just to carry one skill. I don't get why Anet would force us to require an entire profession for one skill, otherwise we cannot do this dungeon. It feels like the usual elitist thing where they tell you "unless you have this build, you can't do this".
I always thought Guild Wars was about playing how you want to play, without having to deal with the usual "cookie cutter" thing. But here is the company itself forcing us to go Necro secondary or have a Necro player with us, or else we are not allowed to do this dungeon.
Sorry but this really bothers me that I am forced to change my skills to what Anet says I have to use, or else I can't do their content.

don't let it bother you that much.........it's just 1 skill, I'm sure 1 person can fit it in
yeah it's not a great design element but I think you are blowing this out of proportion

You`re saying this like it`s some kind of a big deal.
At least for me it's like you`re asking: Why are they forcing me to buy tickets to fly? I wanna fly for free, I don`t wanna pay!

And when someone gets used to a specific build involving two professions, and has made it work well, and is happy with that, it is rather frustrating when they have to completely change their entire build cause now they have to roll Necro for one skill that they are forced to use. So now they are forced to use a build that they are not comfortable with. And an unhappy player, is a bad player. Would you rather have someone on your team that is unhappy cause they are forced to play something they don't like, or have someone that is happy cause they can play what they enjoy doing and are good at it?
I understand that mostly all of you are just going to give the usual response of "Quit crying and deal with it". The normal response from others. But I find it rather upsetting to start doing the dungeon and get to that stage, only to realize it was all a wasted effort cause I'm not playing the game how Anet wants me to.

The reason we didn't get 11 heroes for Deep/Urgoz is because these areas were designed to be played with multiple humans. So yeah, that's probably also why they won't change the teleportation (even though you can just bring it yourself and not need another human).

Sorry, but not all of us only play with one profession. We have access to two professions at a time. Might as well make use out of them.

Sorry that your Any/A Assassin's Promise noobie caller build won't work for you down there

So before you assume I use some "noobie caller" build, how about actually sticking to the topic at hand instead of trying to insult me?

The major problem I have with it, is that a FACTIONS elite zone requires 1 of 2 PROPHECIES skills.
So much for each campaign being stand-alone.

Couldn't you just suicide under the bridge and get your hero to rebirth you under it (so you spawn on top)?

I'm sorry but it's been well known for a long time that Urgoz requires the teleportation skill.
And while we have access to all sorts of options for our builds, there are situations where you try to link up with a group and get a verbal lashing (in chat, :P) because your missing Skill X or Y from your build. The difference is why the change must be made but it must be made none the less if you want to stay with that group.

If you die under the bridge, and a hero rebirths you under the bridge, you should appear under the bridge. If you appear on top of the bridge, it would be a bug.
No idea if it would work, but it seems more like an exploit than strategy.

I get angry enough regularly about people complaining that they can't "play the game the way they want," which usually entails running whatever bad build and expecting it to work, but this takes the cake.
It's well-documented that Urgoz requires a corpse exploitation teleport to get through. It's been like this since 2006. I can't really tell why this is a problem.
