Can't seem to do enough damage in DoA

I'm stuck at the third room in Foundry. My team can tank most all of the groups at the same time, but it would be nice if I didn't have to. If I could just score faster kills I could get more out of the way before the rest of the patrols hit me.

I just want to beat DoA in NM by myself with 7 heroes and no consets. I've never completed DoA, UW, or Urgoz and The Deep yet I've played more GW than most people who have, so it's about time I get these things done.

Here's what I'm running:
-------------------------------
2 Necros: They are pretty much the MM and SS necro from Sab. I gave the SS necro splinter weapon though.

1 SoS rit: He's got splinter weapon too.

2 Mesmers: Panic build from PvX on one, and PI and rit heals on the other.

2 healers: E/Mo ER prot and a Mo/E with UA and party heals, Aegis and Prot Spirit.

Then there's myself. A ranger primary. I've been using Barrage and EoE. I also have Lightbringer Gaze and Pain Inverter(for bosses).
---------------------------
I've tried switching the SoS out for a derv or another ranger, but that just gets us killed in the second room for some reason.

Some other things I've tried that didn't seem to work:

1. An HB+Mimicry monk instead of the ER Prot
2. Discord
3. Ineptitude+AoE instead of PI+Heals
4. Not having a MM
5. Savanah Heat ele

SS & Panic - One activates on the use of skills/attack, the other interrupts skills

PI - KD's adding to ^ you have 3 bars doing absolutely no good.

Pain Inverter - Most teams have enough interrupts that allowing a boss to use skills is pretty worthless.Panic provides enough shutdown to suffice. You're a ranger,D-Shot stuff!

Change your damage bars to something that synergises and it will be fine.

Could you post your bars?

Why?

get rid of panic and ss. Use keystone, or another one of the great mesmer elites and add a command paragon for added damage, fall back, and survivability.

The dryders are deadly if they aren't interrupted, so I prefer to keep panic.

There's another thread active "DoA and FoW with heroes" which has some team builds in it for foundry, which will all be of use to you.

Try using SY, it will make everything a ton easier.

The problem isn't that you don't have enough damage, but that you're not positioning your party right. When the titans spawn, run to the very back corner where the group of misery titans spawn, they should be straight across from you when they spawn. The groups don't patrol clsoe enough to that corner.

I just realized I have two heroes using the same spirit.

The advice on positioning for room 3 worked. I eventually got wiped on the last spawn in room 4 though. I probably wouldn't have if the dryder/rider groups didn't spike my heroes to death so many times before.

I suck @ DoA although im managing vanq after vanq so i think my team building is ok, just not for DoA.

But your question is cant do enough dmg, in total between prots and heals and res i can count 27 skills. Thats the easy answer, got to be. Plus like the others have said, panic and PI are counter productive, knock em and interrupt everyone when 1 casts, you cant do both so choose 1. im liking the inept mes atm, standard ish pvx type build, lots of nice dmg there and interrupts attackers. Also on the MM think about what you are trying to achieve, BotM? if you want the minions to blow up, let them, if not protect them and dont use dNova, again its contradictory.

I'm liking the use of EoE though, have to try that but i wondered if you run low on energy like i have (im running ranger too)? Also EbSoH might be better as it will boost each barrage hit. Oh and one other thing im playing with is 1 splinter and 1 nightmare weapon that way i can get life steal to heal myself occasionally (not that i dont <3 splinter barrage).

I think I need a better healing backbone.

I switched Norgu to inept and Xandra for a Savanah Heat ele.

I added SY to my own skillbar.

The damage and protection was great, until the second spawn in the second room. We got wiped by the dryders because there seemed to be no healing going on.

My experience is this: as ever extremely careful pulling is vital...in Foundry, I flag my heroes just inside the gate for rooms 1 through 3. I usually target foes in this order: Titans, Dryders, Dream Riders, Margs...with the Margs I try to get the monk if any. For room 4, I do not take the Foundry Breakout quest until I clear the entire Foundry of patrols (and there are a crapload of patrols). The Foundry (room 4) clear is relatively easy though as you can kite and evade if you start to get overwhelmed. I actually found the second and third rooms the hardest as you can't run far enough to break aggro if you get overwhelmed. Once the patrols are cleared in room 4, I'll take the quest. Then it is simple...as you free each prisoner, be ready for the spawn with each one. That's about all I've done. For me the key was patience, patience, patience. And by the way...the only thing I use my arrows for is to build adrenaline for SY, or to interrupt as needed. I do use a vamp bow, but TBH the amount of arrow dmg I contribute is miniscule. My dmg comes mostly from the two other PvE skills I carry: Lightbringer's Gaze, and Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support. FWIW, I'm a r8 Lightbringer, so Lightbringer's Gaze will do 100 dmg on up to 8 foes. The rest of my major dmg comes from the minions and the spirits + painful bond...it's amazing how much dmg all those spirits can do. The mesmers are mostly for shutdown and I get a sufficient amount of healing from the Resto N/Rt & Prot N/Mo.

Also, I don't know how your heroes are runed or weaponed. My runes are attrib. where needed, the rest are survivor/vitae/vigor. I've never found energy to be an issue so I don't use radiant or attunement. Weapons are usually 20/20 + HP.

Finally, yeah, the spawns do matter some, although I can do this run successfully about 75% of the time.
