Well, im happy now. Took a while to really 'sync' with the build.
Im so used to my PVE/RA builds which require little to no thought that having to actually scan the screen, pay attention to time left, figuring exactly how long each skill took to recharge based on when I used it, if i could go ahead and use swiftness on crystal wave, or if i needed to pause 3-4 seconds because it wouldnt recharge in time for OF to wear off, etc etc etc...
Anyway. Long story short. Vaettir farming has made me a better gw player.

This thread is pure awesome for event farms...I imagine it's gotten more hits with the anniversary and all.

Updates for A/Mo:
You don't need Great Dwarf Armor or SoD. I use ONLY Way of Perfection/Way of the Master and Shadow Form, take 0 damage by the time I finish aggroing top 36 (cast on entrance to Jaga, one recast during aggro process). Using full blessed, +10 against earth shield.
Which means we get an extra slot to work in more damage, to reduce it to one round of smite.
Radiation Field does not deal enough, and requires two casts. If they are not fully aggro'd, it can cause some scattering, so it's harder to pre-cast it to save time, which means the two casts it takes to finish them off takes you right to Balth aura recharge (24s), which really only shaves about 6 seconds off each batch (2s casts and a couple pulses).
Any other ideas on how to reduce the A/Mo build to one round of smite?
Edit: Critical hits still cause -3/-4, so try not to let too many get behind you if you only use one of WoP/WotM. Also, A/Me rocks.

Thought i try the E/Me one
But i must be doing somthing not right cos i get keep getting hexed and killed most of the time.
I presume it has to do with Obsidian Flesh and timing then.
Any clues?
Hmm, first impression of this build, utter crap.
One positive thing though, finally a use for Wintergreen Candy Canes

@dagrdagaz,
based on the fact that ur getting hexed, u should make sure u have +20% ench mod on weapon, obs flesh is up with glyph of swiftness (and chk air magic has 5 attrib). Then you'll have perma obs flesh.
I would make sure you have mantra up to regen quicker if ur having nrg issue. Other than these, don't remember much issues.. hope these work!

5 Air Magic? It works on 2 spells at 4 Air Magic, so you only need 3+1.
But yes, dagrdagaz, it takes a little practice. 15-16 Earth Magic and an Enchanting weapon and always using Glyph before Obsidian Flesh, then you should be able to maintain it.

A good place to practice obby farmer is the first 2 waves of snowmen in secret lair - but to get used to the method of keeping obby up - snowmen are easy to reach ( a few secs ) and if you goof just map out then return and that saves frustration from dying all time in vaetires. Please note tho you will need to add stone striker to convert dmg to earth but your there practicing obby upkeep rather than farming.

Hi guys, can anyone perhaps post a detailed map, of from where do i start and to where i must go to reach the Vaettir? Sorry i know its a stupid question, but seen a few different places where Vaettir hangs out, is it in the bottom part of Jaga Moirane?

You start in Longeye's Ledge and run through Bjora Marches to Jaga Moraine. The run should be devoid of any aggro (except the very occassional popup wurm, but they can be ignored mostly):
(although I run a little more west directly from Longeye's Ledge and then north to follow the path on the image)

As others said, an Enchanting mod on your weapon is essential, cast Glyph before Obsidian Flesh, and don't run out of energy.
And do it
like this, if you only want to farm items.

Tnx for the replies !
I was already using an +20% enchant mod.
But, i know the problem now, i was not always using the glyph before recasting Obsidian Flesh.
Beginners impatience, was forcusing more on casting the damage spells.
Takes some practice yes this build, and proper recasting (using the glyph first) Obby Flesh is the most important part!
Oh yeah, was using a Major Earth and 15 Earth Magic, proved to risky, still didnt always work good keeping Obby Flesh up.
So, i got a Sup Earth to get 16 Earth Magic, worked better.
Also, something to not forget, the other ele insigs (Fire, Air and Water) also have +10 armor againt all ele damage types!
So, with those u will still have +10 armor vs Earth damage

don't you think Blessed insignias would do the job? as they give +10 vs all. being enchanted all the time by obsi flesh this would grant you permanent armor.
edit: I agree for ele primary in theory the geomancer insignia could be used..
but for primary sin, it is blessed, also if you wish to farm other areas, blessed could come in more useful.

The area around the bear altar in Jaga Moraine is the only place where there are Spectral Vaettir. Vaettir in other places are Mist Vaettir, Scourge Vaettir, and Shadow Vaettir. These other types are usually found as popups in groups of mixed types, and are not farmable the way that the Spectral Vaettir are.

A/Me is fast but you only need Shadow Form + Shroud + brains to survive. There is no need at all for an extra enchantment, instead you can fill that spot up with Cry Of Pain for example. A good alternative also is taking dark escape over that extra enchant, DE gives you a speed boost if you are running back to the entrance and IF you ever get too much damage, just hit it and you are save for another 16 ish seconds.
Prob the fastest bar is Mo/A with Spell shield.
Requires "skill" to use.
What you do:
- Put balth up, time SF
- Gather all vaettirs
- When you got all vaettirs, block them on a wall
- When SF runs out hit Spell shield (cant be hit by spells for about 10 seconds)
- Now hit your damage skills. (Kirins wrath, symbol of wrath and balth aura)
-> Now you bypassed the damage cap of SF and the mobs get hit for shitloads of damage (34-34-26). Everything blows up in 1 chain
- Collect drops

Lemme telllya.. I got a grip of lightbringer scrolls and netflix... a few episodes of my favorite tv series later and I finally died at 1,250,000 xp. Great farm for survivor title. Gonna do it again tonight, but this time I won't outrange my bonder.
Thanks again!
PS: Does it annoy you when Nick gives you merchant stones in your weekly presents? Here's a great place to use them. Having a merch handy to sell crap to, or to buy salvage/id kits = great! And he vanishes when you rezone!

Welcome! I'm glad you found the build useful for your necro. I had fun experimenting with different variations and getting R3 survivor on my necro. I have found that sometimes I need to move my bonder a little on bad pulls...just keep them out of aggro range heh
Yah this is a great place for merchant stones
