do something about missions that require a hero
Xslash
I know a lot of people don't use Embark Beach, or just run in with 7 heroes for missions.
However, this is a big flaw in the Embark Beach system. I'm sure someone will come up with a good solution to fix it.
The problem happens, for example:
We formed for Jennurs Horde HM. We finally got together 8 people, traveled together to Jennurs Horde, only to realize that we had to use Koss.
If it was just 1 human and 7 heroes, its not a problem. You drop a hero and add Koss. But if its 8 Humans, now we have to cut someone from the team, which sucks.
Fixes I can think of is just removing the hero requirement, but this may mess with the storyline.
Another fix would be just to only allow 7 people to zone there, or giving some sort of notice.
I know that people will respond to this saying: You should've checked, you should've known. Regardless of whether or not somebody in the party should've known, it sucks that after we gathered 8 players, we now have to kick someone from the party.
EDIT: This is not about making the game easier. This is not about bringing the Heroes I want. This is about blah blah blah you should check if it requires a hero. This scenario will happen occasionally.
8 HUMAN players spend half an hour forming a party to do a mission. They arrive there, turns out it requires koss. Now we forced to kick a player

This problem is not unique to embark beach. Taking your example, a leader forms a party of 8 in Jennurs Horde than clicks to enter the mission and oops. Simple solution is for people that know the requirement to speak up. In most cases when the leader doesn't know or forgets, someone knows but doesn't say anything or says something too late. Perhaps a parentheses next to the outpost name with the required hero or even just an asterisk would be helpful in some cases. Once on the overview map next to the outpost name for people already in the town and once next to the outpost name on the transport sign in embark.

Should realize you need kos, having unlocked the mission outpost before obviously, plan ahead.

Last I checked theres a split off, 1 mission or the other. A few times.

Although I, myself have done that with heroes a few times, and that I know the feeling. I still think that checking is the best solution. It really do not take long to check if an npc is required. Teaches us to be more aware of the game.

They got rid of this in Eye of the North so obviously there is a way to do it and not mess with the storyline. Heroes just appeared in cutscenes regardless of their presence in your party.

So you want to make it so you don't need specific hero's anymore? Sorry but no. This game is already a joke, lets not make it any easier then it already is. I'd rather have them focus their energy on gw2 then making gw1 easier.

I think the hero requirement should stay for normal(story) mode, but for HM the required hero for mission should become an ally instead, because in HM it's not about completing the game it's getting a title and if you can get 8 real players instead of a AI, I am all for that..

/notsigned. The hero is required for a specific, reasonable reason. You should know that missions that require a hero can only take seven humans.
GW1 and GW2 have their own separate staff.

Plan ahead.
It's a pain, and I hate to have to take the heroes they want me to take, but I cope with it. You should too.

I'm not talking about making the game easier.
I'm not talking about how I should know it requires a hero.
What I'm talking about is the end-result of requiring a hero and already forming an 8 person party.
The guilty feeling you get when you have to tell someone, Sorry; you can't come anymore.
And with the longer and longer forming times thanks to the games inactivity, it sucks that one guy is going to get left out, and chances are, not find another party to play with.
I don't care about you bringing 7 heroes and Koss is one of the 7 required. You probably could bring him at one slot, give him 0 skills and stand him at the spawn point and still finish the mission. That is not the point. The point is leaving a human behind.

although i dont have the problem myself, i do /signed for this one, as multiplayer in GW already is at the end of its life, and in eotn they did it cuz they thought people should choose their own team (whether its other heroes or full player team)
so yea, i agree with this idea (and i did /signed for this a few years ago or so somewhere)
its not to make the game easier, its to make it easier to pick your team, and maybe keep the multiplayer part a bit more alive, whats left of it, that is
if you dont like it, just use the normally required hero
ps. i dont do /signed for the sidequests which require certain heroes, but missions are different

You should know which missions in nightfall require which heroes by now, if you do NOT know by now you should check the wiki before getting into a party that seems to have forgotten that MOST of the nightfall missions require a hero.

I really don't understand all of the responses "You should know, remember next time."
I do know and I will remember next time.
But this scenario will happen to other people.
To the people against this: You must realize that it is too late to check if a hero is required if I am already in a HUMAN party of 8. This is not a HERO party when i can just drop Dunkoro for Tahlkora or something.
My solution is also not to remove the hero requirement. I just think it should have more pre-notice of this before you go and talk to the mission guy to start the mission.
You can bash me all you want about forgetting the hero requirement, but the fact of the matter is:
I forgot, brought 7 other human players, got them all together for the mission, and turns out I have to leave one behind. The feeling really sucks.

One would think that of the 7 or 8 people in a group like the one the OP describes there would be one that knows that mission X requires hero Y. The solution is for people in the know to speak up. It's what I do.
Bad Company Sin
Well if people realize this then they can all ask if someone will leave out on that run, then after the first one go help that person with it, just kick someone else, but hey they might have found a group by then, OR YOU COULD CHECK WIKI OR REMEMBER A HERO IS REQUIRED.

I can remember when the zquests/missions first came out and groups would form for them in the appropriate places---when it got to the nightfall ones ALWAYS the hero was forgotten, IF I was in a pug I would be saying--we need hero XYZ for this mission...over and over again and be ignored, so I would add that hero and then the party leader would say "kick the gd hero!!!' I would repeat, its REQUIRED for the mission---KICK--that would be ME getting kicked....
Cant recall the approximate number of times that happened, but it was very often.
This is NOT something new with embark beach, and people will always be stupid and forget that for MOST nightfall missions a HERO IS REQUIRED whether you like it or not that is how it is. (cant recall the number of times people want to also get a group for the tihark mission as well /sigh)

Make the [Elonian Travel] NPC pop up a little dialogue when you ask him to transport you to an outpost for a mission with a required hero. EzPz. You can still go there if you want, without Koss, no worries. But you get the warning and that can be super duper helpful.
"We don't suggest you travel to this destination without the one called 'Koss' in your team. Are you sure you want to go to this location?"

so even with the small multiplayer part we have left in GW, people still tell us that we have to use that hero
and in HM it shouldnt be, as most are doing HM lately in GW, and so can teamup better without the requirement
let people be able to do without heroes on HM then, i mean, people complain about the game being too easy cuz of heroes, and that it destroyed multiplayer, but now we cant make a full human party in those missions even after we done it on NM, and people DO like that, i dont get that
and the OP even said
yet people dont see that multiplayer can be important and without the requirement on HM, it can help multiplayer a bit, even though we dont have much of it left, but stumme still supports multiplayer parts (which is why we didnt get 7 flags, just watch the video again)
gimme 1 reason why it would be actually bad anyways, nd "too easy" means "make own challenges" and in this case "use the hero required now whenever you do that mission, even if they would change it"
