Ancient Kappa doesn't use Turtle Shell?

This says that it uses Turtle Shell, but I've never seen them use it personally. Can anyone confirm this?
I farm these all the time, and I know they don't use it because Sliver wouldn't do damage to them if it did (I've tried Slivering the Kappas outside the Hatchery, but Kappa Shell reduces the damage too much for it to be worth while)

I think whats happened is your checking a different type of kappa.
If you read the whole description this skill is used by kappa in kaineng - kappa in lux area i believe have diff skills.

I can see both have the skill - only thing i can think of is are you farming in hm - lux kappa i do know use the skill as often as possible and are a pain in hm.

I AM farming in HM. Does that make them not use it?
The one I linked are the ones I farm - In the Undercity. I've never seen them use it, so I don't know why the page says they do, is all.

Perhaps they'll only use it if they see a martial weapon user (War/Derv/Sin). Try equipping a melee weapon on your next run and see what happens. If they still aren't using it, try again with one of the above professions.

Well, I've done it on my sin and attacked it with a spear.
All of the other Kappa types spam it regardless of the situation. But, I'll run in again and use some daggers.

EDIT: Nope. They don't use it.
