Anyone else unable to connect?
TheGizzy
I seem to be unable to connect to the server my GW is currently pointing to (64.25.39.41/34/36) - is there any way to change which server I try to connect to?
Pinging the server shows it is unreachable... I've done a reboot of my router/modem, tried a direct-connect as well.
Suggestions?

Yeah also couldn't connect to the IP's you mentioned, plus .40 at the end. I don't know of a way to change servers. The IP's above are for American districts (american servers?). I wish there was a way on login to be able to change districts...

Guild Wars seems to be ...down .-.

Same here, unable to connect to the servers (american districts; from europe). 100% loss on all the IPs you provided.

Had this problem yesterday. Was able to sign into character select but unable to load any zones. Sent in trouble ticket and before I got a reply it fixed itself in an hour or so.

Guess its solved, i thought i was in a Euro server last time i logged out but,
when i logged again just now i was in an American district.

Figured I'd just bump this thread. I'm still having this problem with the listed addresses in OP's post. Anyone still having this problem?
TheGizzy
Yup, it's still happening to quite a few people. Near as I can tell, it's an issue with how we're being routed after entering the NC Interactive IP ranges, based on where we enter them originally. That's the current theory anyway.
Be sure and file a support ticket - [email protected]
If people don't keep reporting it, support can just keep telling people "it's not us, it's you..."
Give them as much information as you can when you write. Include how you connect (cable, DSL, etc.), whether you use Wireless or Ethernet (and make sure you've tried both), who your internet provider is, where you are located (city & state, province, country, whatever), the brand & model # of the router you use, whether you're at home or work or on a military network, and what anti-virus and firewall you use.
Some of this isn't actually relevant to the issue, but they are still going to ask for the info... you can save yourself time and frustration by providing it up front.
It's also really helpful if you can tell them what IP the game is trying to connect to. You can find this by logging into the game as you normally would, choosing a character to play and then when it's hanging on the 0% loading screen for the outpost, note down the numbers in the upper left corner.
They assume that because THEY can get a response from the servers, everyone can... but since they're not going to be routing through the same pathways as someone else, it's irrelevant. Ideally, sending them a tracert log would help them see where it is failing for you, specifically. They need to recognize that it's failing WITHIN their internal routing, NOT in the hops before reaching the GW networks.

Thanks for the response. Has anet said anything about why the servers have been so horrible?

Same issue here. Access to some servers doesn't seem to work. I can't connect to my main account that I left on international districts iirc (IP starts with 64.) however if I log in with my friend's account which is on euro districts (IP starts with 206.) no issue.
I'll log a ticket I guess...

My advice would be to keep trying to log in periodically... if you do manage to slide in, swap yourself to an international district immediately and stay there. Some players are saying this has allowed them to log on... makes sense, you're being routed to a completely different server then.

Navis said that international districts are also not working and they're not working on my other account either. One of my characters on my 2nd account can get into Jokanur Diggings in America and I switched it to a Euro district and now all of my characters can get to any town now. International districts seem to be down for me, so I'd suggest going to Euro instead.

I'm not sure if it's International or American not working for me. It's the IP starting with 64, and Iceblue said above they are for Amercian districts.
What I'm sure of is that it is working fine for me (from France) when connecting to euro districts.
I've logged a ticket but haven't got an answer yet... do they reply to tickets during the week-end?

Navis, they generally don't on weekends... I think unless it is for something like hacking.
I managed to get switched to the European servers by logging my account in from a different location... and now I can get on at home again.

Asked a friend to log on my account from Germany and it worked. She moved it to euro districts and I could log in myself afterwards. I can't go to my GH though

Omg, I totally need help too. I keep getting code: 034 saying i can't login, and it doesn't even get on the loading screen, and even if I log in, as I try to switch districts I get code: 013. Someone help me! And can someone also tell me how to send a ticket?
P.S. I don't have an NCsoft account! Please Pm or post on here. :[
Seems like its a Euro, and GH problem, I can't log on any of my characters that are in the GH, and also cannot warp to Euro Severs.
Also added an image of my angry sin.
Edit: I was finally able to connect on gw with my sin, thank God!

The issues with their servers is spreading... it started at the beginning of last week with intermittent pathing issues, causing some users in certain locations to not be able to connect to the game. They could connect to the login server, but not to the server hosting their (American) district.
Things escalated and it took out guilds for some users. That started a couple of days ago.
Now, as of tonight, the login servers have begun failing... again, this is all part of the same routing issue. That's why only some users are having trouble. It is only affecting those whose path from their point of origination to their destination goes through one of the faulting servers. This is why earlier, changing the destination from American districts to European districts helped some players... it altered the IP they were trying to connect to and thus altered the path dictated by their point of origin.
Just as an example to help players understand what is happening:
Joe & Jane want to meet at the Marriott Hotel in Orlando, FL. Joe is leaving from Chicago, Jane from NYC. They're going to the same destination, but they'll take different routes into Orlando. Joe normally takes Daisy Highway, Jane normally takesRose Highway. Today, Rose Highway is closed, and Jane is caught in a traffic jam which she can't get out of. She can't turn around and go another way, there are no alternate routes branching off Rose Highway. The only way Jane can possibly get to the hotel is to start her route again, beginning at a completely different location than NYC... if she tries to get there from NYC again, she will only be able to go via Rose Highway... so she has to change her start location.
Joe, of course, is swimming in the hotel pool. Bastard.

I just talked to a really great guy, Mike, at GW support. He's asked me to use a 3rd party program, PingPlotter Standard, and send him the results.
I'm going to paste the info he sent below. It would really help them out if others who are having the same issue could create a log of their own (use the IP address you'll see in the upper left corner of the screen when it is attempting to load your outpost) and email it to them at [email protected]. Make the subject of your email "Connectivity Issues: Attn Mike" so it will hopefully reach him.
Even if you are now logging in on a European district so as to circumvent the issue, a log would still be useful for them. Use the IP address you are able to connect to... you can find that information by hovering your mouse over the little green "status" circle on your User Interface.
This information might also be useful if submitted by those dealing with the Guild Hall issues. The more info we can give them, the faster they can resolve this.
PLEASE report the problems you are having!! [email protected]

There is a free trial program called PingPlotter Standard which may be of some use to us in determining the health of your active Internet connection. We ask that if you are using a router, hub, or switch, to first disconnect this device and connect directly to your modem before running this utility. You may have to reboot your modem and/or computer to reestablish your Internet connection. This program is not supported by NCsoft. You can find the program and information on how to use it at http://www.pingplotter.com/download.html 1. Please download and install the Standard version of PingPlotter. 2. Run the program and in the upper left corner you will see an "Address to Trace:" section. 3. Type in the server IP you find in game by hovering your mouse over the colored dot in the lower right hand portion of the screen and click the "Trace" button. Please allow the tool to run for at least 30 minutes even if you are unable to play, or you get disconnected during this time. 4. Click on the "Stop" button. Then, click on File -> Save Sample Set and save the file to your computer in a location that will be easy to find, such as your Desktop. Please update your incident at the provided link and attach the report. If you encounter a problem such as excessive lag or Code=007, please tell us what time the problem occurred so that we can investigate that section of the report. |

I just got that same email from Jeff. Just wondering, but has this issue fixed itself for any of you? I'm still unable to log into any American districts.

The reason you dont see Pingplotter advertised is that they do not support it.
This is a final way they try to assist you as I used it for same situation way back in 2008.
I have always found support to be great (no flaming) and always had a result albeit takes a little time.
By asking them always in a polite way to ratify any problem I have faced.
I have even had responses very quickly once it has been forwared to a higher up person
So if any issues do it in a nice manner and you will always see an end result

Among those that are having this issue - how many of you are using Texmod as well? I know it seems unrelated, but I'm curious.

I just called and talked with Timothy at support. They still don't know what's causing the issue and are still working on it. He's going to try and get another update before the end of business today, but I don't really expect it with as late in the day as it is.
I had emailed the other night when they instituted the GH bandaid, because doing so cut many of us who WERE able to log on to the Euro districts off from the login server. Apparently I wasn't really clear in explaining that in my email (looking at what I wrote, I WAS unclear), but Timothy noted it today and is passing it on. Sometimes it's just a lot easier to convey things by voice.
Anyway, just wanted to report back on my call. I think they're as baffled by this as we are. I also think they're getting stonewalled by one of the peers.
We talked about the possibilities of TexMod relating to the issue. I'd noted in my email that I thought it likely NOT to be related, especially since TexMod is supposed to be local but I thought it worth mentioning that I was using it and what I'd experienced. Timothy agreed and commented that they wouldn't allow TexMod to be used if it were changing the packets... so in theory, no peer would even realize a user was running TexMod. Since I do have multiple MAC addresses to get new IPs with if I need them, I'm going to try playing with it loaded again.
