For the past 4 or 5 days, I have been virtually unable to enter GW after logging in. It sits at "connecting 0%" for as long as I let it. I did make it into the game a couple of
times, but was unable to leave the place I entered. What I mean, is when I went to exit the outpost, it would sit there at "connecting 0%". This happened when
trying to zone outside the outpost or when mapping to another outpost. I have also been unable to connect to the wiki (wiki.guildwars.com). Had been able to play this game with little to no problem for almost a year after getting this machine. Able to check email, search craig's list, and do other internet activities with zero problems.

Have done virus scans, spyware scans, and anti-malware scans with nothing found, using programs recommended in these forums and a couple others.

I run GW in windowed mode, not full screen.

Ping Plotter shows high percentage of packet loss in Dallas servers when routing to 64.25.39.48, the server the game is trying to connect to. Dallas server also show high packet loss when routing to wiki.guildwars.com.

Are there server problems going on, or did my provider all of a sudden start having problems, or is my machine acting up?

well, it is unlikely to be your system, the thing is, since today morning or so, gw servers are behaving strangely, i haven't seen a official clarification yet, but everyone is getting connection problems and lots of error code=15 going on pvp matches.

when i first read your post, i thought you had a firewall blocking your connection, since gw makes 2 connections to different locations(gameplay and chat perhaps?)

i myself am experiencing lots of chat corruption while typing, many characters get "lost" before reaching the server, so they don't show on what i'm current typing into the game. i haven't beem stuck on 0% - connecting for a while now, last time was when they where doing some server maintenance like a year ago (lol, a year without maintenance)... so maybe everyone is getting different feedback from the servers.

just my two cents.

Please open an official ticket with NCSoft so they can diagnose and fix this problem. Many other people seem to be having it, but I've been on the phone with support since Tuesday and they're saying nobody's reporting anything. PLEASE OPEN TICKETS IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS! It's the only way they can fix stuff, guys. Something funky happened on their end and they need to fix it, but they need info from us to help.

This same thing was happening to me. Support told me to use the "-image" fix and I did. Now I can't get past the popup box that says "connecting". I have another email out to Anet...hope the can fix this soon...been without GW for almost a week now.

This issue is very strange.
I run GW on 2 pc's and on my main portable the gaming experience has been going downhill for almost a week now. First stuck in euro districts, then I got the "you're not in a guild" even though you are issue, and yesterday I couldn't even get past the login screen.
On my other pc everything runs smoothly, guilds, all dis, login.
Sent a ticket to NCsoft already and waiting for it to get resolved.
Hard to keep a running service up that way :s

Even though I hadn't heard from support since Monday, I decided to try the game this morning. For the moment, I am able to long on and move from one outpost to another just fine. Also able to zone to next instance with no problems. Not sure if a temp fix or permanent one, but time will tell.

Edit: Must have just been a temp. Froze in middle of mission, had to exit game, now can not log back in.

Same issue although the problem seems to extend to the support websites as well, which might explain why there are no tickets. As of 4:25 PM EST 3/30/11 NCSoft, Guildwars.com, and the Guildwars game servers are inaccessible to me. It's not my firewall. I checked both the software and router firewalls. I adjusted my QoS to give priority to Guild Wars and still nothing so it's not a bandwidth issue either. Guildwars the game just sits at the log in screen with a little connecting dialog box. It will sit there as long as I'll let it sit there. The websites just continuously try to load but never display anything.

Same issue here. Starting last saturday, no loading possible for any zone with IP starting by 64 (includes all american, asian and international districts, as well as my guild's GH). Someone I know from a different country was able to access my account and move all my toons to european districts and out of GH so that I can play.

Then, on Monday, I couldn't access official wiki as well as other Guildwars/NCsoft website anymore. The link they put in tickets to update information didn't work, for instance.

Tonight, error 58 when I try to connect.

Is anyone seeing signs of things being done with these issues yet? Already missed out on last weekends events, would sure hate to miss the April Fools day event also.

Finally able to log on to game this morning. Did experience three error 007. At least able to play.

Any chance to rerun the April Fools quest? Just a thought.

I've been experiencing connection issues to GW this morning myself - pretty much identical to issues I had last December and at the end of January. Basically, first I experience a lot of lag logging on (often have to do it twice to successfully log on, with an error 058 the first time I attempt) and then the game can't connect to the location the character I select is currently in (returns an error 007).

For your information, after I opened my support ticket at NCSoft, they made me use this pingplotter software. Last message I received was "please be patient we're working on it" but now I don't have any issue anymore, I can connect to all districts and to official wiki again.

Only lag ive seen in last few days was mainly yesterday and getting huge lag spikes on outpost entry - eg logging in and arriving at xx place or gh but yesterday weirdly i had serious probs with wiki load times and several times i had to check explorer to see if it was my end having load probs or wiki`s end - also it may be unrelated to ingame probs.
Its weird as last few weeks ive had small incidents of lag over 1k - only a few tho then it seems to reach a day where high spikes come and go rest of day but usually im on usa dists and no real probs - i bet the asurans an golems are behind this all and anet better ask them to sort things out asap lol ( its beyond anet so who else can fix it )

For what it's worth I've had the same issue (stuck at loading screen after character select, can't access wiki or ncsoft's web page) since yesterday. Comcast (gee, what a surprise) is saying it's them. Haven't heard back from what NCSoft says. I can play other MMO's and do everything else online just fine.

In the traceroute, I noticed that everything timed out briefly when it switched to the AT&T portion of the route.

ETA: NCSoft says it isn't them, and I should connect outside of my router. Yeah right.

I am willing to wager most of you have Comcast. This issue has occurred in the past, Comcast denies they have anything to do with it, but only people with their service have the problem.

Does it eventually resolve? Heard from NCSoft that they were escalating it.

Edit: Seems to be working, but I'm logging in to a completely different IP address. (The one in the upper left-hand corner.

I do not have comcast and I am having problems accessing any GW sites. I can get in game though with no problems, however I noticed there is slight connection lag while getting in. When I am in game I have no problems at all. These problems are a recent occurrence ever since NcSoft did network maintenance several days ago. I do not know if this is just a coincidence or not, but it is just a tad strange. I am not having any other issues connecting to any other sites not related to NcSoft.

I would submit a support ticket but I can't get into any GW or NcSoft sites and when I do I can't use any links because they are not connecting.

After logging in and after character selection, I get stuck at 0% connecting and eventually it gives me a 007 code - Unable to connect. I have reinstalled Guild Wars and downloaded all maps using -image. I have opened up ports 6112 and 80 and verified that they are indeed open on my Netgear router. I tried disabling my firewall.

Sometimes (at least last night) I was able to get one of my characters to load. If I could get a character to load, I could then switch (using F12) to the character I wanted and play for a bit and zone to other maps. However, eventually I would eventually get stuck back at 0% connecting (when trying to load a map).

The guildwars.com website seems very slow to load (I sometimes have to refresh it a number of times before I can get it to load), also the official wiki, and ncsoft.com (I haven't been able to login in at ncsoft to check what my master account info was). All the other non guild wars sites I go to seem fine.

My Internet provider is Comcast, I have Windows 7, WNDR3700 V1.0.7.98NA (upgrading the router firmware didn't fix anything), and an ATI HD 5800 video card.

The IP's Guild Wars tries to access (when it is doing the Connecting 0%) are: 64.25.39.48, 64.25.39.49 and 64.25.39.35 (at least the ones I have noticed so far).

I am also just managed to submit a support ticket with ncsoft. They referenced this article: https://help.ncsoft.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2856
I also looked at the article they had for connection problems with a Netgear routers: https://help.ncsoft.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2607
I tried changing NAT filtering from secured to open but still having the connection issues.

UPDATE: After trying about 50+ times to get in, I finally did @ 64.25.39.48. I quickly switched to the European districts. Now connecting to: 206.127.146.XXX. So far working like a charm. Will see how long it lasts. Hope it stays up.

You can submit a ticket via email - [email protected]

Everyone affected by this issue should be submitting a support ticket. This has been an ongoing issue for nearly 3 weeks now, and support needs as much information as possible from as many players as possible so as to resolve the problem.

And Flame - it's not a Comcast issue.

Oh yeah. I submitted a ticket, and last I heard it was escalated. When I did manage to get in--not on 64.25.39.35 (or 64.25.39.32), which was the one I submitted all my traceroutes to--I switched to the European one.

Yea I submitted a support ticket. So far their suggestions has not helped the issue. And they kept thinking I wasn't able to log onto GW when I kept saying that I had no problems logging onto GW but problems connecting to any GW websites and NcSoft websites.

If you can, call them on Monday instead of emailing. Most of the players affected found that they could not access the websites OR get into the game. The fact that you can do one but not the other is important information... and they really need to look at a log of your traceroutes for the game and the sites. Unfortunately, it seems like many of those manning the email support don't realize this... but if you can reach Mike or Timothy by phone, they should understand.

Btw - temp solution would be to use anonymouse.org to view the websites.

Going on four days of being able to play. Still the occasional lag spike, briefly freezing up mid battle. BTW, playing in Asian, Korean districts, not trusting American districts. Talk about a single player game, only seen 4 other players last 4 days.

Here is something interesting. I open two tabs and try to connect to guildwars wiki. One tab is normal while the other I am using anonymouse.org.. Anonymouse.org connects to the site in a few seconds while the normal tab doesn't reach it at all. This confirms it is not on my end.

Pando Media Booster might be a reason why some people are having issues connecting to GW Wiki and the other Arenanet/NcSoft websites. I uninstalled it and now can connect to those sites without any problems. Hopefully that fixed the problem.

The idea of PMB might be the problem came from this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/p...t10477500.html

I had PMB but I still have problems connecting to the guild wars servers. For some people PMB may be the problem but there is something definitely wrong with the guild wars servers. For me everything is in the clear, I have no malware on my machine, guild wars is on my exception lists and my ISP reports my connection to the net is smoother than a baby's ass. I can surf the net perfectly and play my other games but I have problems loading in guild wars and gw wiki doesn't want to load at all. Whats really annoying is I opened a ticket and anet keeps telling me it has to be on my end. The last response I got from them they told me to download some experimental ping tester for my aion game when I clearly told them I am a guild wars player in my last response.

I filed a ticket on Thursday 4/7 but the last I heard was that they had escalated my issue and requested an updated Game Advisor report (which I sent) and a PingPlotter report (I haven't been able to get around to that yet due to other business, but will try to do that tonight or tomorrow). I haven't heard from ANet since Friday, actually, and sent them a message requesting an update. I can't telephone because I'm deaf and don't have an active phone at this time, so I have to stick to email. No issues reaching GW.com or the wiki, just the game itself. And the Game Advisor report I generated showed the traceroute and ping losing 100% of packets when it got to the ATT part, too.

I have had trouble with access since middle of March. We have 3 desktops and 1 laptop in the house, and my desktop and laptop were not running GW clients. As well, all of the computers could only intermittently load up Anet and NCSoft websites, including the official wiki. I logged my ticket, responded to every request NCSoft technical support made in regards to running scans, etc. and then didn't hear another word from them since the end of March.

Today, a guildie told me to check for Pando Media Booster on my Add/Remove Programs. Sure enough, although I never willingly installed it, there it was. Apparently, it's a program that gets installed along with FTP ORPG like DDO and LOTRO, and turns your computer into a Peer to Peer client.

I promptly blocked the program from my firewall and uninstalled it, and JUST LIKE MAGIC my desktop and laptop could run GW and all 4 computers could access the Wiki.

There was a German/French version recently released, and it's likely that it was taking up all my bandwidth. So for those of you having connection problems, here's a possible suspect for you.

Good Luck!

Good thought, but not an issue for me. (linux, so the only things that get installed via wine are the things I put there.) I had a problem once today, so switched back to the European servers. I don't have a problem playing there or any server not starting in 62.25.39

Have had a similar issue for almost 2 weeks now, probably. Hit or miss access to any guildwars.com or ncsoft.com URL. Game access works fine, however.

Makes it hard to file a ticket, since I cannot even access their websites

I did run PingPlotter to investigate and there was 100% packet loss at the final Comcast hop right before my own modem...

I'm not very knowledgeable with networking at all, so anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

Been having trouble with the wiki and official sites for some time but now it seems it has spread to the game as well. Random disconnects and markable slower loading.

Hope they will be able to solve this soon. Don't wanna be left out on the sweets weekend and the birthday celebration.
