Guild Wars 2 in Guild Wars 1?
thedeadlyassassin
I read something awhile back that said ArenaNet plans on having "events" in Guild Wars 1 to coincide with the events in Guild Wars 2 (lore wise).
Just thought I'd mention now this thread will have some lore for Guild Wars 2, so consider this a "Spoiler" alert
So, we all know that Kralkatorrik is sleeping in Grothmar Wardowns and flies down to the Tomb of Prevail Kings, leaving a "scar" in the earth. We also know that Primordus awakens where the Great Destroyer was slain. We also know that Zhaitan's awakening raises the kingdom of Orr. However, we also know that Guild Wars 2 takes place 250 years after the death of the Great Destroyer. There are also events such as the planting of the Pale Tree in Arbor Bay, which you can visit. Also the human WiK Civil War. These are somewhat events that we can take part in or go and view.
So, my question is, does anyone know if we'll get to see more? I can't remember where I read about these possibly being true, but it would be pretty cool if players could maybe take part of a mysterious problem in Grothmar Wardowns and have a cutscene in which the dragon awakens or something.
PS: Sorry if this is the wrong section. Don't know where else I'd put it.

Looking at the timeline, there's few events that will take place during our character's lifetime. Kralkatorrik's awakening won't take place for a couple hundred years, and I don't think Zhiatan's arrival will happen much sooner than that. About all we can hope to see is the formation of Ebonhawke, maybe the beginnings of Joko's rise to power and separation of Elona, or the seeds of Cantha's expulsion of lesser races. There's a very slim chance we may see the Foefire, but I doubt it.

Have there been any ingame footage of the Elder Dragons from Anet? What is the foefire?

My guess would be that we might see some of the interim events AFTER launch of GW2 in the same sort of "reenacting" style of things like Chahbek Village and the like. I actually think that would be kind of cool. Realistically, much as I would love to get to see that sort of thing right away, I'd rather they focus their energies on getting GW2 to the shelves... I'm impatient. LOL

No HUMAN survived it. There were some charr witnesses tied to stakes outside Ascalon City. Hmmm.

You know those books that came with EOTN if you reserved the game and bought it online? Maybe they will do that in Guild Wars 2?

Yes, this was in-game footage.

I guess they could use the pool in Eye to set up a plot line that would eventually lead to gw2.
There could be small signs that something strange is occurring and they could tie this to the different races that will eventually be playable in gw2.
There is quite a bit they could run with, maybe the dwarves will leave a few clues before they all disappear.
Also am not sure just when the Sylvari appear maybe some of them could show up now or are they all due to appear during the gw2 timeline.
Plenty of scope for them to play with.

One of the newest GW2 vids shows an Elder Dragon swooping down in front of a party. It was Ebon black and composed of purple lightning.

I would love to see some new Bonus Missions that will take place 250 years from now, halfways towards GW2. Either as one of your decendants (you must have a decendant, right..?), or perhaps Glint send you temporary to the future.

Well, in the end of the EOTN campaign after you kill the Great Destroy, the dwarf monk (whatever his name is. Ogden or something) starts talking about what's to come. At the very end of the cutscene, you see Primordus awaken. Maybe something like that?

To create such an event would take a massive amount of resources, so I doubt Anet will go that far:
-creating a dragon model (ie, a huge dragon rising and flying and so on)
-changing the terrain (ie, a grothmar wardowns without the dragon)
Also, it's rather early for that, what with our characters needing town to find mates, settle down, raise some kids etc. Things that take years.
What I'd expect is the stuff leading up to these events but not the events themselves. It's much easier to add in a few quests that show, for example, loremasters studying a series of earthquakes who then find out the earthquakes are the movements of a sleeping dragon than it'd be to actually show the movements of the dragon.

Maybe we can encounter one of the those events through the scrying pool in our HoM.

For info on foefire without introducing spoilers in this forum http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Foefire
and for other GW2 events know to fans. The gw2 wiki is up to date.
We just need to wait and see what ArenaNet produces. Right now they are working on Cantha story.
