Urgoz: doable with 7 heroes?

Hi, just tried to do Urgoz with my 7 heroes...died in the 10 degen pips room.

Is the run doable and is any skill required to end it?

I was just doing 7-hero Urgoz last night. Made it OK to the end, but just couldn't kill Urgoz.

The 10 pips degen room, you're talking about the second room? Make sure you draw the aggro back outside of the area where the degen is, towards the door of the previous section. Once the dredge patrols and the vampire spawns are cleared, just rush the Twisted Bark (it causes the degen).

Edit: A few other comments that may come in useful for others:
Bring Necrotic Traversal on your char (alternatively, if you can't go secondary Necro, have a UA monk carry NT, get the monk up there, then sacrifice yourself using a vampiric weapon, use UA to get yourself up there). NT is needed in order to tele on top of the bridge where the gate locks are located. Otherwise you won't be able to get past that room.
I found the Thorn Wolves hit pretty hard, so I brought Shelter on one of the Ritualists and manually activated it when necessary.
Lastly, bring EoE for Urgoz himself.

I didn't actually beat Urgoz, but everything up to Urgoz was pretty straightforward for me, using a generic Spiritway + Mesway + Necros (of course, it'll be much faster if you decide to use a more specialized build). Read the wiki and pull when it suggests, generally avoiding fighting in the environmental effects and being careful with the popups.

Urgoz himself is the easiest thing in the world.

EoE and some degen, kite all over the place and pop all the spawns. Urgoz takes damage every time the spawns blow up.
You don't even need to be in attack range, just ping heroes for EoE to reach him and pop the spawns all over the room.

So much fun ^^

for urgoz heros flag your heros on a safe spot. kite the exploding plants with players. keep healer heros just enough in range for you to heal

Bring a UA monk and just park him out of Urgoz's range.

Run around like chickens with your heads cut off, whenever someone dies let your monks res them.

Have you played GW before? The EOE trick requires one to go /R, but the problem is that the plant bomb will appear as you place the spirit. You can escape it, but your EOE spirit will explode. So, EOE is hard to place in Urgoz's room for EOE to be in range and not get destoryed without teleport. The way to get around this is to play Rt/R, and teleport EOE spirit with the rit PvE skill to a safe place, right after using it.

However, this poses a serious problem! You should either be Rt/R or R/Rt. And you cannot teleport EOE made by heroes, so GG there. Any other profession is at a loss. So....

Let's see what you should do. First of all, you must be /N because you need to tele up and open the door one of the earlier rooms. That means you can be Any/N or N/any. Thus, you cannot be Rt+R for using EOE effectively at the same time at Urgoz. In other words, you cannot achieve high-speed Urgoz killing once you reach him with your N/any or any/N bar.

Killing Urgoz using EOE is NOT mandatory, but tele-ing to open the door IS. So, you must go any/N or N/any. You must figure out how to kill Urgoz by some other means....think damage/conditions. Obviously, there are PLENTY of options to kill Urgoz, but these are slow, and Urgoz will go down in 5 minutes instead of 30 seconds (as in EOE). Still, you will get the job done. Some of your skill options for killing Urgoz are:

Mo/N: RoJ + signets

Me/N: Fevered dreams + fragility + pve skills (YMLD, Fire Djinn) [ personal favorite]

Ele/N: Bring any fire degen or Shockwave/Savannah (URgoz doesn't move). Might wanna blind Urgoz and then dance off as you continue the lightning strikes.

A/N, D/N, W/N: Bring spoil victor (SV) andshow your awesome dance skills near Urgoz

P/N: Stunning strike + fast attack skills

R/N: Plain degen...poison, fire etc



The whole run in NM takes no more than 40min (if you pop 1 BU only, and nothing else). Good for those who want to get it done for HOM. I used to run this for people, but I'm done running. Do it yourself now...you have 7 heroes. Bring a friend with extra 3 heroes, and do it even faster. Go HM if you are a seasoned Urgoz player w/ heroes, but you might need a full conset. It can get nasty in some places.

As I've said twice, you can place the spirit just by one of the entrances (just on the incline). Plants do not spawn up there.

I've done this countless of times, triggering EoE like this and popping degen on him is the safest way to down him before he 2-shots your entire team (this was a boss with 12 people in mind, remember). But none of your suggestions will work because you're carrying 7 heroes that need to kite the exploding plants, they will be ruined in seconds. Unless you're suggesting to attack Urgoz solo?

PS, I didn't know SV worked, don't you have to tank his damage as well? As I have said, hero EOE will not work because exploding plants will wipe it. I have verified placing spirits with hero outside exploding plants range, while I was near Urgoz. The "safe" EOE does not reach Urgoz...which is why I said it is useless in hero teams.

The player can solo kill Urgoz with degen and other tricks, it just takes ....like 5 minutes. Big deal? The 2 sidekick guardians don't heal Urgoz.

Urgoz dealing damage to player is not a big issue unless the player is 1) dumb enough to stand and attack, 2) lags bad. Run front to Urgoz, spam skills in 2 seconds, run back for heals/prots, and redo until he is dead.
