Possible to lock myself out of the attribute quests?

Hi all,

I want to take my Tyrian Mesmer through Factions to pick up the elite Kurzick armour. The character is not ascended yet (still trawling through the very boring Maguuma Jungle) so I haven't taken the two attribute quests.

Now I'm probably making this up but I'm sure I read somewhere that if I do the mission to become closer to the stars (i.e. the Factions version of ascension), I can lock myself out of the attribute quests, leaving my Mesmer short of 30 points.

Am I making this up or is this true?

Btw, if you are finding Maguuma Jungle boring, you can skip it all by leaving from Temple of the Ages, going south through Talmark Wilderness and Tears of the Fallen to eventually wind up in Sanctum Cay (which is where you end up after doing the jungle).

Does this also apply to doing Hunted! with a Prophecies char?

Never thought of that. I've just been through that jungle so many times I'm sick to death of devourers and spiders! Will give it a try.

what hunted and the mission in factions (nahpui quarter) do is get you 'ascended' this has nothing to do with attribute quests.

I was worried there for a moment (since I ascended a Proph char in Nightfall because it was faster). But it makes sense that the attribute quests are separate.

And thanks for mentioning the quests, I just remembered I forgot to do one on a Factions character.

Why would you do that? I was under the impression that "Hunted!" gave no Ascension benefits (secondary changes/UW access) to non-Nightfall characters? Or am I wrong?
