Of course they can.. do you think it's illegal for them to do it or something? The question is not if they can but if they do. I think it's not too unlikely that the few Anet staff read popular threads on here. I think it's not too unlikely that that Anet use this forum and others to gauge reactions to new updates and stuff too. But obviously they don't have the time to implement every idea from there, even if no one is against it.

Firstly, they have lots of other things to do like WoC etc. Secondly, I think a lot of the worthy ideas they have probably already thought of long ago.

A-Net has implemented many ideas found in Sardelac Sanitarium. The 7-hero party system? A suggestion from SS. Log-in with the option to select your status (online, offline, etc.) - Another SS suggestion. The ability to change your attribute points without any restrictions? Yes, that too was the result of a suggestion to fix a horrible system way back when.

Just because they don't implement every idea people post in Sardelac doesn't mean they don't look them over. There are a LOT of suggestions that are simply BAD and I thank God that they never see the light of day in-game.

As a side-note: I applaud A-Net's discretion in not commenting on suggestions found there.

Yes they were suggestions found there, but they were also blatantly obvious suggestions, so I don't know if it's because they were posted there that they were done.

Also, don't forget that guru did not start out as the largest GW forum. It had plenty of competition, including non-english-language forums. Then there was in-game chat which could be viewed by any ArenaNet employee who cared to hang around the most popular towns and outposts or even review the logs.

Obviously, I am a big fan of guru forums, but I don't believe we are the center of the GW universe.

Currently there is also the wiki Feedback pages for the purpose of suggestions.

Thanks for the response so far. Now I want to provide additional background information and why I asked this question and why I asked for proof...

First some qoutes from people that I would appreciate a response to.

Guru Member Named Bright Star Shine "Actually, Anet can't view Sardelac for some legal reasons.. Something to do with them being able to steal ideas you post or something like that (or at least, that's what I've been told)." this qoute is from post # 138 from this link... http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/p...0474105p7.html

Guru Member Named Marty Silverblade "I've seen a source of this, though I can't find it (and I don't care to spend much time looking either). It's to do with stealing intellectual property. If Anet say they read Sardelac, then implement one of the ideas, then they've taken something that doesn't belong to them. Thus, they don't read Sardelac. If you want Anet to implement ideas, you'll need to post them somewhere where it's clear that you forfeit claims to them." this qoute is from post #140 from the same link as previous qoute

Guru Member Named Bellatrixa "Also I believe there was a comment somewhere about ANet staff not being able to use ideas from Sardelac due to intellectual property laws etc?" this qoute is from post # 13 from this link.... http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...t10475490.html

So to be perfectly clear, my question is NOT does anet use ideas posted in Sardelac?

My question IS can they use ideas and can they read Sardelac? Additionally, can you provide any proof?

There may have been posts or threads on this forum, too. Feel free to use the search function. I know there was an announcement thread at one point.

Well, this link seems to prove that anything posted on Sardelec can't be considered by Anet. Hmmm, so only ideas on wiki feedback can be used, slightly disheartening.

I guess I'll post in Sardelac to finetune an idea and gauge popularity then post on wiki feedback.

Also, it looks like they would want to avoid even read Sardelac or they could risk someone saying they got the idea there.

Thanks for the link with proof, btw.

As the question asked has been answered, and there's no real room for discussion on this matter.. and this isn't the forum for discussing these issues anyways..

Thread Closed.
