I lost my GW discs while moving, so I guess I'll download the client. Once you download enough to log in, you gotta download more on the loading screen. My question is do I only have to download that part once or every time I play? Thanks.

The -image command on the shortcut will just download the entire game (more than 3GB), so might want to leave it overnight.

It's safe to interrupt the -image download at any time and play the game: the assets of zones and outposts will download the first time you need them while playing, then they'll load from disc afterwards.

You only have to download it once (until the next update). So, either way - by doing an -image or just downloading as you play - you only have to download the content once.... unless it is changed in an update. (And then you only need to download the changed content.)

Btw, because GW1 is dynamic and constantly updating/expanding/changing, you would still need to download a lot of stuff, even if you had your original discs.
