If you have all three campaigns, the green Mini Black Moa Chick is pretty much free -- with a little effort. You have to do an elaborate quest/scavenger hunt, but it's fun.

Golds are kind of hard to come by free outside of Canthan New Year. The RNG can be a beast with Royal Gifts. So you might be better off hitting up Darcy's link and just buying.

Rurik was at 50K last I saw, just ran across a Shiro at 45K, not sure how much Lich. I'm going to go off on a limb here and say Celestial Rabbits are the cheapest as you can find them at 30k now.
