What would be the next best thing to do? I was thinking on getting to the Factions area so I can get the Save Yourselves! skill from the Kuzrick/Luxon factions, and not sure from there.
Nightfall was the first campaign I beat, so not sure what else to do next. :P
So now that I beat Nightfall campaign...

I agree didn't really get anything out of factions and the story was pretty meh.
EoTN has a TON of amazing skills (Pain Inverter, Ebon Vanguard skills, etc) and lots more to offer in the way of titles and such, so I would start there if you can, especially if you have a decent amount of heroes to work with after Nightfall.

This is how I grouped the various Guild Wars Titles.
PvE - Prophecies (More story driven)
Competitive PvE: Nightfall (More driven on various types of missions to keep content feeling fresh).
PvP - Factions (Expanded on PvP Elements greatly)
Advancement / Expansion on pre-existing elements - Eye of The North.

If you're doing it for skills you should do as you're already saying (going for luxon/kurzik).
Also story and environment wise Factions is really great (although a lot of people say it as the worst of the campaigns).
EDIT: Apparently it still packs quite a punch (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Afflicted_Soul_Explosion) although I know it was nerfed from what it originally was.
I actually did Vizunah Square the other day in HM (think it was Zaishen quest) and I didn't notice anything - ofc it could be because I don't use melee in my group other than minions.

If it helps, my wife and me started with Nightfall and after finishing:
1) went and got any Treasure we'd missedI did level up a Ritualist in Factions though to unlock some more skills.
2) worked through EotN to get the rest of the Heroes, the HoM, and some good skills, but stopped before completing it so War in Kryta didn't kick off
3) are now working through Prophecies
Sorry but I thought the whole division between Kurzick and Luxon really hampered PvE play and created more annoyances than any real new game play. Also I absolutely hated the areas in Kaineng City. For a game with no z-axis, they really should of avoided the multi-leveled, congested areas that got introduced there. Players ended up aggroing mobs of enemies located on another floor with no nearby route to them, so your only choice was to run by or choose another path. It also made the minimap useless.
Its just my opinion, but Prophecies had a much better story, and Eye of the North had the best pure PvE gameplay released by ArenaNet so far.

Heh, I went ahead and am going with Factions. I really hate the environment so far, the city and stuff. I just mostly want to get it out of the way so I can get another trophy on hall of monuments (think I got one for beating Nightfall, had a trophy that said Eternal Hero of Elona) and get that PvE skill.
Fractions is good actually to start as your second game. It is easy to beat and has lots of skills for you to cap and buy. I think coming from Nightfall, you may find Prophecies a little boring at first until you reach almost end game. Plus, it takes a while to start getting nice skills. However, if you finish Fractions before going into Prophecies, you may find Prophecies a bit too easy.
Prophecies has the best story and it is also true that the Kaineng City is pretty confusing the first time a player use it. But once you get the hang of it is ok.

Factions can be completed pretty quickly and on the whole I enjoyed it yes the luxon/kurzic bit became boring after a while and I just wish completing it opened up both sides cities traders etc on that character.
I would do factions next if you have any inclination to gain ritualist skills.
My preferred order of game completion is currently
Nightfall - Eye - Factions - Prophesies.
I know people rave over the prophesies storyline but sadly I find it too dated to really enjoy any more.
Game has moved on I find less and less reason to start a character there, I think it would spoil the good memories I have of the old days.

^ agree, I find Prophecies rather boring.
Actually I'm pretty sure they nerfed the damage a couple of times, it used to be a threat back in the day but now it's pretty low damage.
@Demichelis yeah the city part is not that great but if you focus on doing your main quest you can skip most of it.

If you go to Factions bring protective spirit. The Afflicted Soul Explosions pack a punch if you're using AoEs.
