Ok, so now I decided I want to level a Ritualist for my 2nd level 20 profession, and while I do enjoy my Dervish, it's not a class I see myself playing in the long run, so I want to give this one a shot.

That being said, I was hoping to achieve Survivor at the very least. I'm level 9 so far with 30k-ish exp without death so far. As a Ritualist, what are some good skills or what build should I go for so that I can have the best chance at avoiding death? Also, any tips or recommendations? Greatly appreciated for any replies

Edit: While I'm at it, what is a good secondary profession to take while leveling?

Safest way:
Kill first 10 wurms outside Boreal Station in HM using spirits.
They're level 30, you kill 10 in about 2 minutes and gain +945/exp each with a 5min gold scroll. The 800g for the scroll is usually regained as you get lockpicks, gold drops, tomes etc. Since run to wurms takes aboout 1 minute, an hour would gain you almost 200k exp.

Since they don't attack on range, even if you DC you would most likely not lose survivor. Some other farms are faster but a DC there would almost guaranteed kill you.

Basically it's elite skill "Signet of Spirit" (SoS), and a bunch of more spirits.
You basically create a wall of spirits and can then step back while your spirits do the killing.

Depending on your attribute, different energy management skills could be used.
Boon of Signet (also provide heals) if you have high points in Spawning Powers, or Spirit Siphon if you got high points in Channeling.
Other useful skills (only pick 1 or 2 of them) are Painful Bond (for more damage), Splinter Weapon (use on melee and ranged in your party), Spirit Rift (for damage and weaken foe's armor), Armor of Unfeeling (if they die too fast), Spiritleech Aura (allowing spirits to bypass armor on high armor mobs).
Adapt your spirits after the situation.. offensive spirits for damage, or protective to save your party if you rather prefer that role.

Hey Mallyx [icU]

My ritu got legendary survivor years ago just playing through the game. Easiest survivor I ever made. Haven't used secondary prof since spamming spirits doesn't require one.

Spamming spirits basically means using the skills that make them spawn. So you get skills like Signets of Spirits, Bloodsong etc. and you let them do the work. A skill I recommend is painful bond. Its a hex spell that makes the spirits do alot more damage on your target. Hope I helped.

Buried in that ritualist guide is the skill, Summon Spirits. It's a good skill to have.

+1 to spirits, during vanqs they often survive when others dont, even with no survival skills and being the 1 vs X

survivor insignia, and minor runes, and a +60hp staff is good equipment for your survivor. the most robust would be a shield (gives you 8 armour even if you dont meet the requirement)30hp + something else, and then a spear/sword/axe with 30hp +5e

Shield set is not required here or on any other caster survivor. Position yourself properly, watch your aggro, know how to kite. Micro Prot Spirit when engaging evil ele/ritu bosses. That's all there is to it.
