Level 20?
Zatria
I was doing some googling for any type of idea what level my character should for the areas I am attempting to play in (if anyone has a list, by all means let me know). I came across a page that said the highest level in GW is 20. Is this correct? I know this is trivial to most, but to me this caught me offguard I guess.
So,
1. there a list somewhere for what level you should be in certain zones for the dif chapters?
2. level 20 max? How long did it take you all to reach it then?

Getting to level 20 won't take long at all, Probably is a list like that but you will be fine for the main storyline.
Level 20 can easily happen in a day.

As far as level guides go, compare yourself to the levels of the henchmen. If they're about the same you're at least where you're meant to be (although I find the prophecies henchmen level up rather slowly: if you do all the content you'll be level 20 a fair bit sooner than when the henchmen are).
Time to level 20 depends on the campaign and how quickly you want to get there/how much time you want to spend in the starter area. Factions can get you to 20 in a few hours. Prophecies takes quite a while if you complete all the content and don't skip ahead.

The thing to keep in mind, is that levels 1-20 are basically the tutorial part of the game. You spend most of any campaign at level 20, with the monsters getting progressively harder. You do better not buy leveling up, but through learning more skills and building better skillbars.

Level 20 cap is so that you can actually really get into the game instead of worrying about leveling. The game does really start at level 20.

And level 20 just by itself does not by itself empower you. Skills make the character powerful, the right skills for the job at hand. Just takes a while to get the skills. Then too, runes and inscriptions for your armor make a difference. Depends on which chapter you are playing.
General tips. Use longbow to pull. Never fight more than one group at once. If things seem to go badly, throw the party flag back a good ways and run! If you have a tough group to fight, stringing them out can help a lot. Double clicking on a party member will make you run to that party member.

As of the list you are asking for, there are none, because that is not how this game works.
If you just follow the main story and don't skip anything you shouldn't ever be to low level

Length of time to level 20 depends on the campaign. It has been a while for me but I think the following should be accurate.
Prophecies - Crystal Desert to Southern Shiverpeaks - about the time you ascend usually.
Factions - by the time you finish the first mission on the mainland
Nightfall - about the time you are ready to do the mission that takes you to the mainland.

Regardless, I'm 14 and nothing to do. I just finished last quest I had. I have been traveling from Embark Beach just guessing on what to do. Now I have no requirements to go anywhere. It could be just me, but there is really no flow to this at all. I was using the Tyrain travel guy. I did all of the Ascalon and Shiverpeaks areas. It won't let me go any further.

Good advice. I never knew that henchman level up. I just always redid them as I came to a new area. Most of my kills have been giving me zero exp, as of late.

You're not supposed to be using the Embark Beach guys. You should follow the storyline. Which mission are you up to now?
inscribed
yeah you should be staying away from embark reach until after you beat the campaign.

Generally speaking, anything in the Primary Quest section of your quest log is what will lead you to the next major part of the game. If you don't have any Primary Quests action, then you might have arrived at the next place but missed something there. Do you happen to remember the last Primary Quest you did?
As a guess, have you done any Missions so far? For instance, in the outpost called The Great Northern Wall, if you look at your Party Window there will be a button to Enter Mission. If you haven't done that one yet, then it's certainly the next storyline thing to do. If you have already done some of the missions, then what's the last one you did?

The Embark Beach is a very recent add-on and doesn't really mix with the normal quests and flow of storyline stuff in the game.

Also when you reach 20, make sure you do the attribute quests.
^wow I haven't said this line in at least 5 years.

Then you're truly level 20.
