Error 007 on campus

Hi when im trying to play from my dorm I constantly get error 007 and sometimes when I log in i simply can not move from where I am placed. If I can move, I usually disconnect from 007 after a long freeze, usually a couple of minutes.
I was wondering if theres anything I can do since I dont have access to my router because its the campus internet and not mine. Any DNS/Firewall software that can fix my problem?

Its usually a firewall put in place by the university that prevents you from playing. It most likely isn't programmed to block GW, but to block a certain type of connection which GW uses.

I had the same problem until about a week ago when i figured out how to bypass my university's firewall (for this specific connection). However, I am reluctant to post how to do it as any possible mis-step will result in your IT Department getting notices of unauthorized access and they can easily track it to your computer. Punishment could range anywhere from a hefty fine to being expelled from your university.
And I don't want that on my conscience for all the university people who would try (and there seems to be quite a few here)

Is there any way that doesnt involve me circumventing my firewall? I have similar problems playing League Of Legends and WoW as both games use p2p to patch for whatever reason and this is automatically blocked by the campus internet. This is extremely frusturating because I cant play a simple game because of a stupidly secured internet.

And could you just PM me the way you did it? I'd appreciate it.

You can usually contact the IT department and ask them to put an exception on the firewall for GW. There's usually enough WoW playing geeks in there to understand your problem.
