So, I was trying to get back all my lost templates from Pvxwiki.
Except, typing this (C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents\Guild Wars\Templates) will not get me to the folder.
Yes, I typed my username but it won't show me. Is there a manual way to get to the template folders? I am using Window 7.

try this:
C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Guild Wars\Templates\Skills
C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Guild Wars\Templates\Skills

Doesn't work. Is there a manual way?

Search your hard drive for Skills.

So, it's possible that your computer doesn't keep things in c:\users like most do. Let's find out if that's the case.
(in windows 7)
1. Click the Start button
2. Note the cursor is already in the text box at the bottom, blinking, rdy to go
3. Type: %userprofile% and hit the Enter key on your keyboard
4. BAM. Windows Explorer just opened up to the root of your profile.
5. Find and doubleclick on your Documents folder. Maybe it's called "My Documents". Hard to predict.
6. There's all your documents, right? If so, look for the folder called "Guild Wars" and your templates should be in it. If not... something's been set to non-default by someone or something. Skynet is likely responsible. Is your last name Connor?
Ahem, rite, so if the GW folder isn't in your "default my documents" folder, then GW is keeping it in a non-regular spot. Evidence suggests that Guild Wars just puts this stuff wherever Windows says that the "my documents" folder is. It's possible that GW itself could be told to keep this stuff elsewhere, but I don't have that kind of expertise.
Anyway, common culprits for where this stuff may be instead:
C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\My Documents (the xp-and-before way)
C:\My Documents (the win98-and-before way)
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\My Documents (the something's-gone-wrong way)
Another place to check (because I could swear that when templates were first implemented, it was like this) is the folder where GW.EXE lives. Stranger things have happened!

It used to reside in the Guild Wars program folder, but that was in the Windows XP days. Beginning with Vista, Windows no longer stores your screenshots or templates in the program folder.

Yeah, on XP it's simply C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Templates. Why is it so weird on Vista/7? o.O I can understand if it puts stuff in the user's directory, but why is it so hard to find your own user's directory?

The template path Guild Wars actually uses on a computer can be seen if you open the ingame file dialog to load a template. It is displayed on the top of the list of templates. It is usually a subfolder of the "My Documents" Windows folder.

Press "print screen" ingame and look at the chat to see your path.
Template folder is right next to the print screen folder.
