Question about the quest 'A formal introduction'

When I thought I was done with this quest (I forgot to collect my reward) I started the Minister Cho's estate mission. I'm a few missions further now, can I still collect the reward from the 'A formal introduction quest'? and do you need to collect the reward in order to continue the story?

Look in your quest log, if the quest is still in there and it says completed then yes you can still collect the reward, as far as I know you don't have to finish the quest to move on but there is no reason not to.

You will have to accept the reward to unlock the Study Buddy quest, since A Formal Introduction is a prerequisite for it.
