Not a big problem but i like keeping my pc clean as poss,last week i installed Windows 7 Ultimate(up to date),i didnt wipe my HD clean.
Now i have some old XP Windows folders on C: ,i want to get rid of them but i cant delete them because i need admin rights.Im using the admin account,i have also turned off UAC,tried safemode and still get the you need admin rights to delete msg
any help is greatly appreciated

There are articles on how to assume ownership of directories. It is just a permissions issue. I would advise googling how to change permissions or just google for the actual error message it gives you.

Try right-clicking on the folder(s), ->Properties ->Security, then Edit and give all accounts possible "Full" permissions.

Thanks for the answers but its still not working im just gonna put a linux partition on the drive a delete them from linux (hope the WUBI installer works on win 7),If linux ran games with out the problems i would drop this bloatware OS asap

Which folder(s) is it you're seeing? Windows 7 still uses older folders such as Documents and Settings so deleting it isn't wise - even if you did a format, this folder would still be there as it is used for something (not sure what but I'd guess support for older applications which aren't Windows 7/Vista compatable).

Just a thought, and too late, but could you delete the files by booting the computer off the Windows CD/DVD and using the repair console? (I haven't tried it.)
