Guild Wars FPS and Ping

Lately on Guild Wars I have been having a horrible FPS and Ping rate. Usually 10~16 on FPS and 500+ for Ping. Also, when I have the game maximized, the screen flashes black on loading screens and flashes back to an early part when i was playing then recovers and loads. I have no idea why its doing this, especially since I am still able to play games like Crysis, and DoW2 on high settings with a resolution of 1920x1080. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Though I also noticed lately on other games after playing for a while the screen quickly flashes and the FPS drop there for a moment or two then it picks right up again.

Well that laptop should play Guild Wars just fine.
Maybe it is overheating? Have you tried/do you use v-sync?
The drivers seem to be pretty recent as well.
Download this utility, gpu-z (http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1978/.html) and check the temperature.
The flickering while loading seems to be a gpu driver bug - I had sometime ago with my ATI 4850.

have v-sync turned on, and it gives me this problem even if the laptop has been off for like 12 hours and i just turn it on >_<

If you are using AA try to turn that off - laptops and anti-aliasing don't general go together well.
I have no NVIDIA cards atm, but 1 guy in another forum was complaining about getting low frame rates due to his card downclock. The solution was

I have sli cyclones and have something similar happen in less demanding games. 1 or both gpu's will attempt to run at 405mhz. Under Nvidia control panel Manage settings program settings each individual game power management mode - prefer maximum performance This allows me to set global mode to adaptive. One final thing, under windows 7 Power settings. Advanced settings pci-e link state power management - set to OFF these settings allow my gpu's to downclock and up clock normally in 2d etc you need to reboot sometimes after these settings changes or global changes to Nvidia power settings. |

Hmm, worked for about 30 minutes, then it dropped right back down to 20ish

Turn off v-sync. I had a problem with it a week ago. With it on i was getting ~20 fps, while turning it off gave me 180+.

Have you considered purchasing a laptop fan cooler? I have one and it may be the solution to your problem! Keep us informed with your results!

Get GPU-Z and record a log of your GPU temperatures and tell us what are your max temperatures. Oh by the way, are you running a single GTX260 or a sli setup (if the m15x can run sli)? Wicked CPU by the way 
, totally beats the crap out of my 720qm but then you probably paid 1000$ more for that CPU alone. GPU-Z should be able to tell you if your card downclocks at some point as well.
EDIT: In regards to a notebook cooler, a gaming laptop shouldn't need one. It can alleviate overheating issues somewhat but if you're overheating it's not for the lack of a cooler. If you need a cooler when the laptop is brand new, it's because of bad thermal design.
EDIT: Ok, i'll ask a stupid question but it needs to be asked, you're gaming with the AC adapter plugged in right and all your power settings are set to maximum performance?
