All merch food. Anything that is not max damage (15-22 for swords, 15-28 for bows, Energy +12 for foci, etc) is generally merchant fodder (except for crystalline swords). There are more factors to determine if it is valuable (Skin, Requirement, mods (if not inscribable)) but these factors are more learned through experience than anything.

I've noticed the word "skins" thrown around a lot.

When it comes to those, is there any kind of guideline for what people want? You mentioned the Crystalline Sword, for example; I assume that's an expensive skin. Is there any other particular example like that that can be used as a guideline, or is is truly just an experience thing?

Oh, also. Is it better to keep Gold items Unidentified if they're in an undesirable skin? Perhaps to sell as items towards the Wisdom title?

And one last thing. Are any of those mods in the OP worth salavging to sell?

Well, there are quite a few skins that are popular, but it is usually those that are rarer.

For example, crystalline swords are extremely rare, known only to drop from the Hall of Heroes chest and the Zaishen Chest (maybe?). Purple crystallines can drop from the kilroy quest chest in the Sorrow's furnace and from quest chests in the fissure of woe.

Eternal Blades are known only to drop from The Underworld end chest and the Zaishen chest, so they're very sought after.

Obsidian Edges drop from the Fissure of Woe end chest and the Zaishen Chest, so they're also very sought after.

There are many other rare skins that are sought after, but you're only really going to know them by lurking around in the high end sell forum or from wiki'ing random items to see how many places they can be found.

Interesting. Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll keep asking in this thread if any of my items have value to try and get a feel for things. I'm gonna make a little spreadsheet with the advice I'm given to try and establish a database of items.

Are any of the mods in the OP worthwhile to salvage and sell?

For the Cruel Marble Hammer....

If it is of demonslaying and you meant to put damage +19% vs. Demons and not dragons...you could salvage it off and it could be worth a few plat.

If it is dragonslaying, then no, nothing worth salvaging (unless maybe for future personal use)

You could probably get 3-5k for the green staff. I usually give those to my prot monk heroes, since they're cheap and effective. But on the other hand, in the time it takes to sell it, you could probably get more money in other ways.

P.S. you dont want to post twice on this thread in the same day. Respond through pm.
