Situation?

Alright so Basicly i've had my Account for Two years, Never given any of my Info out or Hinted anything close to what my Email or Password would be.

Anyway i log in Today and i get a wisper and its just talk like:
"You hacked my account, Why?"
"Give my account back, you stole all my stuff and Deleted my characters, changed my Emails"
"Im going to Report you to Anet for hacking my account".

I know right it sounds really..really stupid but Its just bugging me, Nobody i know would use an Alt account ect.

Its funny because it actually seems like a Way to get Info from people like for example They could say
"Oh Whats the Email now because it was [email protected]/.co.uk" but whos dumb enough to answer such a question.

To the Topic- Its not Possible for them to actually report me to Anet and say "there account has been stolen" if its been my account for the last 2 years right? I mean i guess i still have all the Game Keys and CD's so thats Not much of a problem?

I would just ignore this person.
As you said, it sounds like a ploy to get another person's login details.
Plus emails can't be changed anyway lol

And if worse comes to worse, your game keys should be proof enough that you are the owner of the account.
So don't worry about it

you can screenshot the conversation and send it on to support if you wish to report the peep for harassing you. That's about it.

Don't be bad. It's very simple to change your GW login info (both password and login account name).

Don't worry about it. Keep screenshots of convo and a copy of your CD key handy and you'll be fine. Oh, and report him to support if you feel up to it, this kind of thing shouldn't go unpunished.

The email address you use to login can't be changed once your account is linked to an NCsoft master account.

Ah yes my account was linked to an NCsoft master account quite early so forgot about being able to change the email if it's not linked x)

But I'm sure most/all who didn't do it early did that to get the limited offer storage tab awhile ago.

I wouldn't worry at all about that person, I've heard of some people on other games doing that though. I mean it's more like they run into a map your playing and spam messages "telling" you to stop KS-ing them with pre-typed messages and send in a screen shot just to try and get you reported/banned just to make it look like you were harassing them.

Guild Wars however? I don't think ANET is that new to MMO's and ANET [if reported] will check to see if any conversations happened between your character and their character in game and they'll see nothing was said about them giving you their account information.

I know everyone else posted the same things above but I hate for people to worry about something that really is not their fault. Good luck haha.

I suppose it's possible that you created a character with a name that was deleted from
a stolen account. It's pretty unlikely because a hacker wouldn't bother to delete the
characters after looting the account, but could happen.

Either way I'd take the time to report it to Anet just so they can look into what the guy
is up to if they think it's something.

I bet that telling the person PM'ing you that you are going to screenshot this conversation would probably get them to leave you alone.
