Need Help with a Para Hero

Hi, I've never played a Paragon so obviously I have no idea what a Para-Hero needs.

I'm running right now:
Ap-Caller(me), Panic, Ineptitude, ST, SoS, AotL-Bomber, Pain of Disenchantement.

I only need some more hex removal, and some more condition removal would be nice (though not necessary)

Empathic removal looks pretty good, but I have no idea what else is needed/good to make the para effective (I'd rather have him defensive)

Any help is appreciated

Fall Back as a matter of course, especially with Minions.

I'd hazard that you don't need the defence lines of a Paragon what with your Ritualist, Minions and Mesmer disruption.

Command and Leadership's physical damage boosts shouldn't be too much help either.

- Empathic Removal / Expel Hexes (depending on area / preference)
- "Go for the Eyes!" to boost minion and regular attack damage and to gain energy.
- a spear attack like Vicious Attack (synergy with GftE)
- Anthem of Envy" to boost para and spirit damage.
- "Fall Back!" self-explanatory, great movement increase
- Aggressive Refrain (should be able to maintain it if you have fall back on another hero as well)
- "Stand Your Ground!", 34% damage decrease for armor respecting damage

That leaves an optional for something like:
- a res (Signet of Return or "We Shall Return!"
- cheap secondary utility (Smite Hex for additional hex removal, Rip Enchantment for enchantment removal, etc)

There are of course other options, like a different elite, spear attack and other Command skills.

Edit: PvX page on the Command Para hero (although I use 9+1 Spear Mastery, 9+1 Leadership and 12+1+2 Command).

You said you wanted a more defensive paragon, so
Try this:
OQWkgql65OEkImv4D2IEHmHWMm8G

The elite skills is IMO best overall condition removal in the game.
You can replace the last 2 skills with a Finale (if you're running another paragon or more shouts to trigger the finale OR run Aggresive Refrain).

SoL + SoR also maximizes damage output in the two attack skills you can spare.

Song of Purification can make a team pretty much condition-free.

Defensive Anthem can be useful, as all your party members seem to be spellcasters, although better options are typically available, as Aegis is pretty much better and non-elite.

Hexbreaker Aria would work very well here, as you have spellcasters. Empathetic Removal is useful too, if the area demands it.

Go For the Eyes is useful, even at no-low attribute on a motigon.

You MIGHT want to consider "We Shall Return!" or Signet of Return. In the event something goes terribly wrong, Paragons are usually the last one standing, so bringing a res on them is a decent idea, if it's your thing.

Depending on your teams energy management, you might want to consider stuff like Aria of Zeal.

There is an interesting build, albeit less useful on teams with only one para, using 'The Power is Yours!" and "Go For the Eyes!" to trigger Energizing Finale and Finale of Restoration often. It isn't too useful without a bunch of paras, but if you are going the healing route, it is something to consider.

Motivation skills that heal, I find are generally useless. In this case, using both Ballad and Aria of Restoration is ok, but Its a matter of preference. If I want party healing, I can generally do better with, say, Avatar of Dwayna. I like passive defense on single para teams. The only time this changes for me is with multiple paragons and Chorus of Restoration.

Refrains, I think, are something to be aware of. They are 'set is and forget it' if you can micro a shout to keep them up with. Even a party wide Mending Refrain can help cut down a lot of pressure and degen.

Also, and IMO, all Paragon builds should include at least two attack skills. I ussually balance what attack skills I use on what the rest of my build looks like. If I have a lot of adrenal shouts/chants I bring energy attacks, and vice versa.

Thanks for all the input, I think it helped me a lot!

FB ans SyG are on another hero already, so i dont need to be in command. Motivation has some rather nice skills, I think I'll try this one:

Blazing Spear/Wild Throw/Hex Eater Signet/Hexbreaker Aria/Aria of Restoration/Ballad of Restoration/The Power is Yours/Signet of Return

Anything obvious I have missed? Aggresive Refrain would be nice, but I don't think the Hero can keep it up. Are the adrenalin Skills good enough without IAS? Having another Rezz is nice, but not ultimately necessary, so I could let go of this one.

"The Power is Yours!" would easily refresh Aggressive Refrain.

I'm not sure of the usefulness of your para though. All it has is hex removal and some average to meager heals. I don't know how spammy heroes are with TPiY.

Unless your bringing at least 2 Paragons, a motivation Para isnt going to help. I would go with Dz's suggestion and pick something in line with the PvX Command Para. Keep in mind that Anthem of Disruption, Anthem of Weariness, and Anthem of Envy all work with Spirit attacks.

Also, Hex Removal and Condition Removal can easily be placed in your team as it is, Mesmers can remove hexes pretty well, and Rts and Necros have two of the best condition removals in the game(MBaS and Foul Feast).

Ok, the build I posted was not good.

You noticed the Hero, but it was not enough to include him.

I'll try the command one next^^
