FoW or UW? (For a Warrior)

Hey All,

I recently beat the 3 primary campaigns on my warrior, and have gotten into solo farming to make money for armor and weapons. I have learned how to do the W/Me smite farm (UW), and the W/R spider cave farm (FoW), and was able to make quite a bit of money. However, I am a bit tired of switching back and forth between UW and FoW, so I am wondering which area I should choose to focus on? That is, which one do you guys think is most profitable (with a warrior solo farmer)?

Thanks very much!!

A little information that may help:
I can do a whole smite run in about 10 minutes, and a complete spider cave run in approximately 35-40 minutes.

if you don't want to stick to just farming but DO want to keep playing your warrior. try Fowsc.. it's quick and incredibly easy as a 100b..

If the purpose is simply farming, its actually a good idea to split your time between multiple farms. There are those who would claim there's no longer any anti-farming code, but anyone who's spent a lot of time farming a single location will usually say otherwise. Splitting your time can often be more profitable. You might even consider adding in another farm to the mix, or try FoWSCs as well.

Like the others have said, give FoWSC a go. You get drops and chance at rare items from end chest.

I fit into your category of farming a single location extensively. This is how rumors start. Please stop while you are ahead. New players are impressionable and easily convinced. Random drop allocation means there's a remote chance you can get nothing for an extended period of time regardless who/what/where you are farming. When a member of Anet tells us publicly that the anti-farming code was removed, it means just that. There's no clause, loophole, misinterpretation or anything of the like. If you want the link do a search because I can't be arsed to find it again because it's becoming like a broken record. You're not the first and I'll bet my account you're not the last.

For myself, I don't know for a fact is extensively farming a single location affects the drops. But in fairness, neither do you. Anet has said the the old anti-farming code was removed, that's true. But there SEEM to be things which affect farming that have not been specifically acknowledged, such as the time of zone entry, and the number of players farming the same zone globally. There have also been reports of players continuing to encounter the anti-farming code message long after it was supposedly removed, which COULD suggest that it was more modified than removed. There is insufficient evidence to either prove or dismiss these claims, and anet does't address them all.

I don't want to derail this thread into a farming code discussion, we all know there are plenty of those that go nowhere. All I can say is that the claim I made is one which is commonly made, whether true or false. Sharing the information is not claiming that is a certain fact, my wording even suggests that it may be only a rumor.

For the OP: if you're after nothing more than cash, there are other good ways of making good money, such as DoA, HM stuff in general or just playing through the game on multiple characters. As someone who's done a lot of farming (in a lot of places) I'd suggest trying any and every farm that sounds interesting to you. Good hunting.

I'm pretty sure it's still there, I've got pics from when I started raptor farming a few years ago and the drops are much different now.

OP: I would stick to UW smite farming just because it's easy and quick.

Firstly anet did say antifarm code was removed - this is actually proven by the raptor farmers who on special events do the runs for hours on end and they dont get the message i believe players got with antifarm code.Anet replaced it with loot scaling.
What the actual debate is - does doing a farm constantly for xx time deminish the actual drops/drop value of items.Anet wont say nor hint to the answer and its become a gray area thats almost impossible to prove or disprove due to a huge amount of random factors.
Bulldozer is informing players in a way that its left for them to decide - he/she hasnt stated its fact on either side but players personal beliefs - same as if i was to say to a new player AB can be gd or bad and i leave judgement to them.
Myself i like to switch between farms after 10 runs - stops me getting too bored ( 1 hr of vaetires is bad enough for me )

I find the spider cave much more profitable than a smite run. The whole cave should take 22 minutes. Shards drop like crazy.

Too much variety in farming the same 2 locations over and over, so you want to bring it down to just one?

Maybe it's a mental illusion, but I definitely think it feels like less drops happen when the same area is hit too much. I notice it in the raptor cave, and when farming for nick. I'd keep the two and add a couple more. Explore a bit.

I do FOWSC as 100b and it is very profitable, you pay 1K and you get your end chest almost gauranteed with a decent group + if you pick up all your drops you can salvage them and you may get enough materials to craft a conset, you can sell that for 9K.

Ive did 1 FOW Cave run on my warrior- took me 50minutes, 5 shards though but i suck at it, ive also attempted UW Smites but i always aggro the coldfires or skeles. If someone would be willing to teach me both of them runs id happily give you a few shards or ectos or even platinum!

Thanks and Good Luck.
