.... No.
All it means is that if you friend Bob and Bob friends you, when you look at your friends list it will say "Bob (in Ascalon City)". Similarly, if Bob looks at his friends list it will say "Ghull Ka (in Hells Precipice). " If you don't want Bob to know where you are, simply defriend him (temporarily or permanently). Bob's friends will not be able to see where you are unless you friend them and they friend you. |
I know that any random person can add me to their list anyhow... so me being on some stranger's list maybe isn't a big deal... but it just seemed wrong to "hang it out there" if you know what I mean.
So all we're getting is location data on our friends lists for people who've added us also? That wasn't very intuitive from reading the first post here.
No worries, though, GW's still fun times 6 years later!
Edit: Meh, I liked gw without showing my location on the friend/guild list. I'm just a private kind of guy. I can see the usefulness of checking to make sure my pal's not involved in a mission or in FoW or something before I ask him for help... but i dunno.
I'm just not a "Here's where I am, everyone!!!" kind of guy.
There probablly isn't a toggle, huh? So the only way to disable this is to un-friend my friends? I don't wanna do that.
