"visual" lag - NPCs jumping around on screen

Hello
Ive been experiencing an odd problem in my Guild Wars game. Sometimes when running around in explorable area I will get this horrible lag. But not your usual lag, where there is notisable delay from when you click to perform and action and that action actually takes place, but characters will be "jumping" or "teleporting", for lack of a better word, around on my screen. They will not move, just stand still doing their idle animation and instead of walking around, instantly jumping to another location every few seconds. It also happens to my own character. Sometimes just when I click on an object to interract, I will "teleport" to it and stand still for a few seconds before doing anything, but sometimes also while using keyboard to move Ill be jumping around all over the place. This is extremely annoying as I have no idea what is going on in a battle with everyone flying all over the place. It also seems to be happening more in certain areas. Pre-searing in the area between Ashford village and the entrance to Regent Valley and Post-searing in Diessa Lowlands.
I have a very powerful machine, Intel I5 [email protected], 4GB [email protected], Nvidia GTX 570, Windows 7 and a broadband connection, so im fairly sure theres nothing wrong there
Can you help me GW Guru ? Its really messing up my game.
Thx

Mine does the exact same thing whenever I alt-tab out of the game. Only way for me to fix it is to minimize and maximize a few times and it will stop until I alt-tab again.

Its lag basically.Lag can cause many problems and one of the most common is where you or npcs move/act jerkily and this is lag between you and the server and both are slowly trying to resync.Your pc thinks x,y,z chrs are in 1 place but on server it sees them in a slight diff place and you can get what we call bouncing/rubber banding.Good example is where you are going say thru la and you are at the merchants area running to storage above - if you reached storage suddenly you had a slight screen jump and appeared bk at merchants - thats what happens.
Sadly everyone gets hit by it one way or another and sadly once more is any events with boardwalk open tends to have lag issues ( usually coz thousands of players are afk on 9 rings with pets out )

Sometimes this visual lag goes on for several minutes with me. It is incredibly annoying.

Had this problem for years.. I don't alt tab any more unless its an accident, i always window mode in place of it just so i dont get that stupid visual lag its almost as annoying as rubber banding lag, if you target something far away with space bar or a skill, you teleport to it and stand there while the servers still running you there. Always wondered if there was a way to fix it.. but never asked.

I've already told the solution in another thread.

The way to fix it is not to alt-tab out. If you are using full screen; manually go to the top right hand corner of the screen and click minimize. You won't experience the 'lag' this way. Hope this helps.
